Rivalries aside here. First time i agree with (kind off) Arouna! We are 5 points of 4th with a game in hand and most of the teams in front of us we would be expected to finish above this season.
Saying 4th would be an acievement when we are only 5 points off with a game in hand is ridiculous imo, eso considering we have the likes of sterling..coutinho..lallana..gerrard etc.
Poor statement from lallana and he should be spoken too. Btw it reminds me of 2005 when gerrard said liverpool couldnt win the CL; rafa shot him down...and we all know what happened next!

We're currently 11th.
If Lallana has said 4th would be an achievement, how in the name of feck can anyone claim that means he's given up?
------
Just talking up fourth place as an achievement shows Lallana as lacking ambition. If we scrape to fourth place after spending so heavily that's a regression not an achievement. Shankly would clip Lallana round the ear for that comment.

At this stage it would be better than nothing Toor, but considering the amount of money spent on new players we should be aiming for more than that.
In fact that's why Lallana's comments annoy me. Because we spent a substantial amount of money bringing him in so we could progress. Far from doing that he's actually struggled to hold down a place in the team.
They all need to button it and get on working to put this mess right.

There is nothing worse than when people say things like 'Shankly would...'
You haven't got an effing clue what Shankly would or wouldn't do in the modern game.

But would you say he's the right type of player for that? His career has essentially been coming up through the leagues with Southampton, does he have a premiership winning mentality or is he just happy to be here? Think you have to question these things when you spend £20m or whatever it was on a player. I don't see a winner in Lallana.

No, I don't think he is. And these comments don't make me think differently. Chelsea go out and buy Costa. We go and get Lambert and Lallana. We got it wrong in the summer I think.
