Morning troops
Firstly its nice to play rubbish n go through rather than play well and go out like we usually seem to do in Europe
Last night for 65-70minutes we actually looked a decent team the thing is to be a decent team in Europe the other 20-25minutes that you play pee poor in are going to haunt you and that happened last night.
We handed them a two goal lead, first goal Van Dijk all over the gaff second goal Stokes what was he doing then Efe decides to leave his man 5 yards out unmarked
After that the football was good Johansen, Izaguirre and Griffiths were stand outs IMO, Brown second half was very good and Tonev played well when he came on
Gordon (6) - Shouldve been off his line quicker for the first, his quietest game in Europe after that
Matthews (6) - He played ok n thats about it, nowhere near the standard of Lustig which is upsetting because they used to be neck and neck
VVD (5) - His performances in Europe have been woeful, i cant wait to see all the big guns battle it out for his signature, he put us under pressure at least 5 times with poor first touches and wayward passes last night, baffles me how he escapes critcism, Murdo MacLeod got it spot on after the game 'i think hes we're finding out why hes playing for Celtic and not a top team'
Ambrose (6) - Shocking marking for the 2nd goal but after that he played pretty well
Izaguirre (7) - Tireless shift as usual, also as usual final ball let him down but hes basically the only one getting himself into positions to create chances.
Brown (7) - Non existent first half, second half a lot better, won the ball countless times and drove us on
Mulgrew (5) - See Brown first half
Johansen (8) - Great energy, great finish for the goal and was most of our good stuff went through him in the second half.
McGregor (4) - You know what feeling i get when he gets the ball the same as Efe and Sammy did, its the old 'get ready to give him abuse' feeling and to be honest he isnt doing himself any favours but hes being made a scapegoat, played out of position maybe a bit out his depth at this level. The way the fans have rounded on him though is shocking.
Stokes (5) - Dont know what he was doing for the second goal, only he does. He played some decent stuff at times aswell though, looks a lot sharper but he isnt good enough
Griffiths (8) - Terrific shift, his first touch was spot on and if it wasnt for a great save he wouldve got the goal he deserved. Ronny said he played him to get in behind Salzburg because there defence like to push high up the park and he was spot on
Tonev and Forrest looked good when they came on, Tonev had some class touches and runs, did look like he was saying goodbye at the end though

to be fair to Ronny I'm sure it's a wee language issue.
I remain unconvinced but we're through to the knockout stages, top of the league and obviously have both cups to play for.
Now that we have a decent break before Euro matches or international breaks I expect to see improved performances.

One thing I will say about Bo is that he looks like he can swing a cross in, Gudetti would be smacking his lips for crosses like that
Other than that he has the DNA of blamange

Makes you wonder how they'll get on against one of the super powers like Quarabag, Aalborg or Trabzonspor! But for me, I'd love to see Legia Warsaw get another crack at them on the level. If there's any justice in the game at all, that would be the draw of the round for so many people.
Incidentally, why were there so many empty seats at Celtic Park last night....looked like they numbered in the thousands. Aren't we always being told how special European nights are at Parkhead?

Aye the European nights at CP are not a patch on the Ramsden Cup nights at Ibrox

'maheedsnippin'.....
Who said anything about Rangers? Why are you people so paranoid that you have to compare every comment or question with Rangers? I don't think any Rangers fan (or anybody in their right mind...which leaves a doubt about you sunshine) would even suggest that the atmosphere at Ibrox these days is anywhere near a "special European night at Parkhead" as you lot go on about all the time. And as I said, if these nights are so 'special' why were there so many plastic paddies on view all around your ground last night?
