What are people thoughts on it?
I think due to the shocking start to the season, wenger is in a position that any more dropped points will lead to some sort of backlash again.
First time I have seen a banner like that at a game.
Are we likely to see more?
The banner at the game!

60,000 people chanting -
"A Centre Back in Jaaan, A Centre Back in Jaaan
Pleeease Arsennn-and-Ivan, A Centre Back in Jan!!!"
- for the whole duration of a game?
Really? We would look ridiculous.

because the fans are too busy arguing over a moot point.
--------------
Is it a moot point though, trying to get a momentum going to sack the manager hardly a moot point, and if nobody of any significance joins the singalong will that mean the majority of fans are happy with Wenger.?

It's a moot point because it won't happen. He won't be sacked. Which from a business perspective is correct.
The WOB/AKB debate has about as much point as the Snowball wont melt in hell/Snowball will melt in hell debate. An argument over an already set outcome. The same way the snowball won't not melt in the fiery depths of hell, is the same way Wenger won't be sacked or leave before he's ready.
The whole point of the chant being specific to the CB or DM is that whether the fan in question is pro Wenger or anti Wenger doesn't really matter with regard to getting behind it. We're all agreed on that issue so none of the home fans should have a problem with singing. If the fans want their voices heard and something actually done then get all 30-55,000 of them all singing the same thing. They'll be heard real quick. Very difficult to ignore a united 55,000 people whom are in ya face publicly.

WengersBodyguard2 - I have to disagree with your view on the effectiveness of banners. IMO, Wenger is clearly ruffled when confronted with these banners. OK, he might not take a bit of notice, but it's there, at his face, reminding him of what some fans think.
Take for example the win against WBA. No doubts the discontented fans where probably singing something, but you can't expect Wenger or anyone to pick it up. Likewise, at the Emirates the chants of discontent would probably get drowned out by the usual crowd noise. However, that banner got his attention. And if it didn't, the press made sure he was well aware of it. And that's the real impact. Wenger is made to look uncomfortable in this situation. It's a real wake up call to him if he really believes he can sleep walk his way through the season with minimal effort.
That's what the real purpose of the banner is. I have no doubt no one actually thinks Wenger will really quit, just because a few fans ask him to. But he will act if he is made to look like he's losing his grip. It's a very unsatisfactory position, but it does seem to be that Wenger acts on the changes to the team when external pressure is upon him.
Wenger needs to see these banners and the protests. He must know what the fans think because he will never get that level of scrutiny from the board. These fans "support" the club, no matter who's in charge or how damaging it can be to his image. Supporting a club does not mean blindly ignoring the obvious frailties and quietly wishing it'll go away. This is what "fans" like Arsene's Optometrist simply don't get, because they don't truly support the club.

The media would lap it up and Wenger and Gadzadis would have to be seen to act. Trust me when I tell you for them, that's a press/pr nightmare

Serial
The banner can't get into the Emirates. The fans can and I really can't see a reason why any fan would have a problem with the actual chant other maybe they thought it was rubbish. It's not a chant of discontent from a minority, it's a straight up demand from the whole club regardless which side of his job issue they're on.

Wenger is not gonna be influenced by any banner. Do you think he doesn't already know fans are unhappy without a need for the banner? I remember his outburst a few months ago at a presser who brought up news from the Sun that he has signed a new contract, Wenger himself claimed it to be 'negative stories', why on earth would Wenger refer to him signing a new contract as negative? Well at the time it was because we were in our annual end of season collapse and the fans were on his back.
He knows the fans are unhappy now, the players have facebook and twitter, they see what the fans say, people hear what is said on SSN by fans and pundits.
All banners do is highlight that it's not just fans on the internet who are facked off but paying customers who dish out thousands every year to support the club.
But whether it's on twitter, facebook, Sky, BBC, home or away grounds or even a letter in Wenger's mail box, he doesn't really give a fack what other people think. He's not that easily influence, and I genuinely believe it makes him want to persist with his questionable methods even more just so he can say at the end of the day that he was right.

You really hate him don't you Bats? You talk about him sometimes like he's the villain in the Bond movie, sat in his underground complex beneath the Emirates pitch, in his leather armchair plotting the downfall of the league as he strokes his cat . Don't worry Bats, one day we'll have a new manager
