Newcastle players to Rangers

Heard rumours about this over the weekend, the Record printed their story aswell obviously

Seen Newcastle fans talking about it aswell, and a couple of names put forward by them as players that could possibly be loaned out to get game time are:

Adam Armstrong 17
Gael Bigirimana 21

Armstrong is an England under 18 international, described as a pacey forward with a great natural finish who can play up top, out wide or behind the strikers. He has played 5 matches for Newcastle. He is the second youngest Newcastle first team player ever. His first start came in a league Cup match vs Crystal Palace this season, Newcastle won 3-2 with Armstrong setting up two of the goals.

Bigirimana is orignally from Burundi but hs played for England at under 20 level. He is described as a hard working midfielder who covers a lot of ground in the middle of the park. He played 26 games for Coventry in 11-12 and won the Championship Apprentice of the Year award. On the back of this, Newcastle signed him in 2012, for a fee believed to be between £500k and £1m . Much was expected of him but he has found himself stuck in th reserve teams. He has played 13 games in total for Newcatle, scoring one goal in a 3-0 win over Wigan in 12-13. He has not played for the first team since 12-13.

Sounds like a good idea.

If Rangers are to be some sort of 'feeder club' for Newcastle until they get back on their feet again, then so be it. I'm sure it can't hurt.....unless there are some hidden agendas that we don't know about.

And with the goings on at Ibrox over the past 3 years, I'm afraid that's always a possibility!

Long as McLeod isn't off to Newcastle on the cheap in all for getting some of their players up on loan.

Wouldn't think so, the idea is that McLeod will play alongside Commons next season at Rangers. Seems logical as Commons wants to stay in Glasgow for his kids sake .
