I know its early and not trying to tempt fate but.......
Should we win on Thursday who would you like in the group stages?
The more famous teams like Shalke, Athletico Madrid, Lazio, Roma and PSG or lesser (no offence intended) teams like Shamrock Rovers,Differdange etc etc. It would be great to progress, and would do wonders for the club, but having more high profile teams come to St Andrews and feel the passion of the fans yet not go through, would that be enough? baruing in mind squad strength and depth etc.
Your thoughts............
Who would you choose?

Well surely we end up getting both don't we?
The format is the same as the Champions League, so expect to see a group look like this;
Schalke
Athletico Madrid
Birmingham City
Shamrock Rovers
I believe we will be in the 3rd pot.....
...IF WE GET THROUGH

Lazio would be brilliant.
Famous supporters and would be nice to see old Zarate back at Stans (what a player he was)
To be honest getting through tommorow would just be an added bonus, the main priority should be on the league, thats why I kind of agree with Warnock, especially as the amount of games we have to play.

Warnock is talking rubbish. I like him but he's always been a terrible loser.
Winning the Carling Cup did not relegate Birmingham. Had we had gone out at the second round, we still would have gone down.
Wigan got to the final a few years back and lost 4-0. Thats the same number of games and they still stayed up.

I didn't say winning the Carling cup got us relegated, their are a number of reasons why we did. Just saying that this season the priority should be on the league, if we get far in a competition, great, another trip to Wembley... but I would much rather see us playing Premier League football next season with our rivals

Oh yeah, I agree with that CYFC, just disagree with what Warnock said. Concentrating on league is always a priority but that doesn't mean QPR should needlessly have thrown themselves out.
As I told Rego on WM earlier, I think it's imperative we reach the group stage.

How can winning the cup relegate Blues?
Did he not see the difference in the sides that played in the cup compared to those in the league?
After the cup there was still enough winable games to get out of relegation, we was not even near relegation 2 games prior to Wolves game which turned our season around in a bad way.
As far as who to play, i think a nice mix of cultures would be great, no favorites i guess i will let fate take care of the group we are in.
If we get a hard group that means we get to play some big clubs and thats gonna be something to remember, but on the flip side it limits the chances of getting out of the group stage. But on the other flip side the longer we are in the competition the worse effect it could have on our season.
Because this season we have 46 league games, and the usual League and FA cups, and add to that Europa League.
On the bare thin sqaud we have, it could mean a burn out of players and that puts us in danger of fighting for the bottom 10 places, in which any potential Administration at that point could mean relegation again.

I think the best teams would be fringe Spanish beach resort or thereabouts teams:
Tenerife,Malaga,Sevilla-mountains but close to Costa Del Crime, perfect for Pannu and Yeung to make connections!
Even Espanyol for a trip to the Olimpic Stadium,Montjuic in sunny Barcelona!

Did you know, btw,Madrid is the only capital city in Europe not built on a river?
There's not even a beach there!
How about Maritimo from Portugal, they're based on the Algarve.Although Benfica & Porto would be nice for Lisbon and Porto city trips!

I hope we get through and if we do would love a team from France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
I think how it works is there are 7 teams in each group and you play 3 of the teams at home and 3 away but not the same teams home and away, thats how it worked last year anyway?

bcfc83,
It's the same as the Champions League except there are more groups.
