Peterborough Utd V Doncaster Rovers

The Posh entertain the Rovers in a must-win for Posh fan spirits, not least because we are at home.

The 1st of January heralds a new year with fresh hope.

It would be nice, however, to escape the slough of despond that we are descending into, before that date.

C'mon the Posh - a win, please!

Fair do's, Rover.

It looks like Jack Payne is out for us. It will be interesting to see how his absence affects us, as he has not been as good as he was last season. Maybe his absence as captain will help us avoid a fifth consecutive home defeat in the league.

Tyson is out for the Rovers, which I hope will also help.

Surely you're due a home win Thorney. That said they did turn us over at home a week ago and their away record is impressive. I think you'll win 1-0. If you lose will Fergie's position be under threat?

Hi Don, a loss today at home would be a job-threatening landmark. I thought that the recent Leyton Orient game was only such a landmark. Fortunately, for Fergie, we won that one - so, Fergie will no doubt be hoping that a win today will give him some more breathing space.

I hope plays our two bundles of energy, Maddison and Otzumer. The danger though, if Maddison scores, is that he will be poached in January.

You have Port Vale at home - definitely winnable - 2-0?

That was better - a more complete team performance. MOM Otzumer excelled, as usual. Maddison didn't, but at long last No. 9 Luke James put on a good attacking display.

Near two week break and then 5 winnable games in a row against teams around or below us.

This run will make or break Fergie. Less than 10 pts and surely he has to go.
