Target for 2015

Wolves started 2014 in 3rd place in League One, behind Orient on goal difference and one point behind Brentford. They ended the year 8th in the Championship three points off the play offs.

So what would be a reasonable target for where we will be at the end of 2015. Firstly will we still be in the Championship then, or will we be a Premier League team. Secondly where should we aim to be in the table by 31/12/15.

To me by then we need to be seriously challenging for automatic promotion to the Premier League. And it's quite easy for me to see what we need to improve on in 2015 compared to 2014. In 2014 we did a pretty poor job in the transfer market. We have made 3 attempts to provide good cover and support to Dicko and failed every time. And the signings of Saville and Rowe have done little to improve the squad. There are some positive signs now from RVLP but he still has plenty to prove. Just imagine if instead of those signings we had done what I said we needed to do last summer and signed 4 or 5 players that did improve the squad. We would surely be in the top 6 now.

In 2015 the likes of Iorfa, Hause and Ebanks Landell could solve the depth of our defensive squad. And 4 good signings between now and the start of next season can make us promotion challengers. Dunno how much influence each of Thelwell, Jackett and Moxey have in deciding who comes in but if they do a better job with transfers in 2015 than in 2014 then we should make more good progress in the year towards being back in the Premier League in 2016.

Prem is the prem perton.

6 good sides and then bang average, this season is just seeing those good sides struggle a bit, but rest assured they will be occupying the top of the table by the end.

Mali have named a list of 6 stand by reserves and Dicko is not on that list

Good to see that SEB has finally got himself fixed up, with Preston taking him on for the rest of the season.

We are close enough to the play off places to set that as a target but I think we will fall short.
