Watched this film the other day. First things first, it's a cracker. Some brilliant dialogue and surreal moments, and top performances from both Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.
It also has a reference to Tottenham that is pretty apt and spot-on, especially so given our last two performances.
"Purgatory's kind of like the in-betweeny one. You weren't really sh#t, but you weren't all that great either. Like Tottenham."
Pretty much sums us up, doesn't it? Always threaten to be good, but never quite manage it. Sometimes threaten to be really bad, but we're not very good at that either.
Wouldn't have it any other way, though.
This quote from Clockwise always reminds me of Spurs as well: "It's not the despair. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand." Painfully true.

In Bruges is an excellent film! One of the best I've seen. Funny, emotional And dramatic. It's also shot and acted superbly.

Also if you liked In Bruges. I'd recommend Calvary and The Guard. Both got Brendan Gleason in. They are similar in theme and style to in Bruges. I beleive both films are directed and wrote by the brother of director/writer of In Bruges.

Yeah he's Martin nMcDonagh (writer and director of In Bruge) older brother.
2 excellent movies especially Calvary. He has the finale of his trilogy (The Guard, Calvary) coming out later this year, it's set in London. Basically he's written 3 movies loosely based around his experiences, like his I think Father was a Guard in Ireland, someone in the family was a priest and now the final one is based in London where he grew up.

There were some Hollywood moments for us to treasure in the 90s though. From Gazza and Lineker, to Teddy and Jurgen, and finally Ginola.
