If King was on tomight he would have been on the score sheet to Im sure.

Maybe this could spark some enthusiasim within the club and get us a couple more players in quick before the window shuts.

Davies was immense especially second half with some excellent tackling. Redmond was top class.
Listening to Tom Ross on the way back he suggested we should get Redmond tied to a good long contract because many more MOM displays like that and the big guns will be sniffing around.

Redmond was outstanding. I've been watching Blues since the 1960s and its hard to think of the last time we had a young player coming through from the youth who was so exciting (well, actually, its not, - I was there all those years ago when a certain TF put four past Bolton (no pressure Nathan)).

On top of everything else he did, if we'd had had a seasoned striker to get onto the end of a couple of his crosses, it could easily have been 5 or 6 (then again, Nacional had a couple of really good chances to score).

The third goal was a joy to watch - six or seven passes? Give me this anyday over the rubbish McLiesh served up week after week.

It's fair to say Nacional were poor, but you can only beat what's in front of you.

What a fantastic night.

When was the last time we had the pleasure of watching a game of football like that at St. Andrews? Even at 2-0 we were trying to get forward and playing some lovely one touch football and the third goal was brilliant build up. Credit to nacional they played their part. They were very good at passing and at the start bossed they midfield but they never had a clue in front of goal.
Onto to the players what can you say about Redmond. I can't believe he's only 17. Absolute quality and he's only going to get better. That bit of skill in the corner in the second half to get past two defenders showed his class. Brilliant goal and he deserved a second shame he hit the post. I also though two other players stood out. Burke was everywhere winning everything and must have set up about 10 goal scoring chances. He had a great game. Also though Murphy was excellent. Some nice tackles to break up play and obv got his goal.
All in all one of the best games of football I've been to in about 10 years. Lovely attacking play always looking for another goal and to be honest it could have been 6 or 7.
Looking forward to the draw now.

I cant beleave the chances we created this game, disapointing we never scored more.

I guess with better quality of Strikers we could have been 6-0 up, and i think Rooney should have played the ball to Wood when we had a 2 vs 1 on their keeper.

Overall the style of football was good because we played 4 attacking midfield players allowed freedom, that massive turn around on McLeish who played 1-2 and kept them to defend.

You can see the problems it causes as we was left open on the counter, sometimes with only 1 defender back but we did get away with it, i thought Davies was good, and we should look to get another defender with some pace as RJ would have found some of the break aways hard to deal with because of his lack of pace (still good defender who we will miss).

Redmond, what a refreshing change he was, he sometimes over ran the ball and his crossing need to improve but his pass, movement ball controll are all very good. He likes to attack and also he also did his fair share of defending.

I think he could have been the answer to our LM problems last season Sticking Bentley to RM but oh welll
