Fabian Delph

Heard him on Radio WM last night talking about why he extended his contract. Very impressed by this young man's attitude- not at all a prima donna, He kept going on about how he felt honour bound to pay back Lambert and the club for the faith they'd placed in him over the years. Pity there aren't more around like him.

Easy to be loyal when no official bids come in for you.

I can see the sense in him taking his time to weigh things up. And to be honest to see if any massive bids did come in. I think people knew Lambert wouldn't let him go for peanuts in this window.

Sorting it out now means that any future bids have to be massive, which is to everybody's advantage. But he also seems to have decided that Villa is a good place to be, which is also good for us.

Vlaar in some ways is in a similar situation. In his case he's thinking of maybe one last big payday. I think he's risking things a bit though. When fit he's still our best centre back, but equally players like Clark and Okore are doing well and represent the future, and that is bound to affect things. If he doesn't sign now I'd be surprised if that doesn't affect things.

He could have just held off signing for 6 months, nice payday and at probably a better performing club.

Hiya Bluenose he is a very good player and tough on the field but comes across likeable off it.

If we stay up and it will be touch and go we have the makings of a decent side,

Pundit knows what he's talking about. Wolves have several players on 4 year contracts from the Mick McCarthy days and who turned out to be duds and Wolves can't shift them because no one wants to take them on permanent contracts. Kevin Doyle, Roger Johnson, Jamie O'Hara, and the rest of their so-called Bomb Squad. I think they paid up O'Hara's contract just to get rid of him. Loyal players all drawing £30,000 a week wages for doing nothing.
