Car Parking

Hi guys,
Genuine Leicester City fan here, Im driving down to London next Monday for the game, and as its my girlfriends birthday I am taking her to a top West End Show on Monday evening and stopping overnight before the game on the Tuesday evening.
While this all well and good there are no car parking at the hotel near Hyde Park. Also I don't particularly want to spent time and money driving around the centre of London, not to mention the congestion charge.
So, could anybody please point me in the direction of somewhere to park my car within a mile or so of the Emirates Stadium without me paying a fortune, or even better is there a genuine fellow football fan who could spare a space on their driveway from approximately Monday lunchtime until sfter the match,
All help and advice is most welcome.

aaww come on guys we did dump your rivals out of the cup last week.

Thanks in advance and the best of luck for the rest of the sesson, (apart from Tuesday of course)

You can park on the Holloway Road after 7pm and it's free. My mate is a season ticket holder and drives up for every home game. He parks along Holloway Road as near as he can to the stadium and the car has always been safe.

Chris H, I would be driving fast as I could without being silly. But endless traffic jams around the M6, fog restrictions, all that cobblers.
That time would be door-to-door, crossing London (more traffic jams)
You would have averaged around 100 mph to do it in that time, door to door?

I was like that, addicted to my car, but once I started going up by train, life was so much easier. Read on the train, stroll around, no stress. But that's just me!

If you spending couple of days in London, think of tube expense too, tubes are unbelievably ridiculously expensive.

I hv been on underground in Paris and Munich, they are not as badly expensive as London tubes.

Also they tend to cocck up on the weekends when most of the tourist people wanting to venture out.

True, it's disgraceful.
But I would say still cheaper than farting around in your car, with parking and congestion plus possible fines, and for me, much easier.

zones 1-2 is capped at £6.40 a day. Unlimited travel on the tube in zones 1-2, and unlimited travel on all buses across London. Pretty reasonable compared to the rest of the country. When I was at uni in Leicester it was £5 for a day pass just for one bus company!!

OP, the short answer is No.

There's lots of of good advice here but the truth is that you are not normally going to be able to guarantee parking close unless you book in advance and pay a significant amount of money.

Sorry, but welcome to our world

For me (Brighton as I said earlier) it would cost £12 for the drive there and back (I drive an LPG car so half the price of petrol and no congestion chare) plus parking but I would still consider getting the train for 2 of us and park at my work near Brighton station. My wife could drive so I can drink

Hi Guys, Thank you very much for all of your input, it is greatly appreciated.
I think we shall be parking near Cockfosters, as it is only a few station down the line to Arsenal station.

For the record, the cheapest deal I could get was £16 each on the Megabus, or or £20 each on the train.
as Ican drive to London and back for around £20 (4 gallons of diesel)
so thanks again and good luck on Saturday in the north London derby. and for the rest of the season after Tuesday.

I have to confess always had a soft spot for Arsenal, ever since I saw Charlie George score the winner in the 71 Cup final. and I loved to watch Dennis Bergkamp play, I've always said that he and Kenny Dalglish were the best two (non-Leicester) players I have seen play.

Cheers

Yes, 4 gallons of diesel sounds about right.
