Milton Keynes Dons V Peterborough Utd

The Posh visit their old rivals, the Dons, this Saturday.

We have a good record against MK, however, the Dons have excelled this season, so I'm expecting a defeat. Better to expect a defeat against the top teams, to avoid disappointment.

Dele Alli is their danger man.

Maddison should be back (hopefully, to his early season best).

We need to start getting some shots in again, to atone for recent displays.

C'mon the Posh, serve up a feast of football for the travelling fans.

Maybe not this time. I don't want to be a cruel but that's the worst posh team I have seen for years.

We know, we are awful.

We have the bulk of a good squad though.

It's the management that's the problem.

End of Fergie time. I couldn't understand the substitution of your little fella, he's the only one who had a go.

My will power failed dismally. On top of which my team lost to Crawley at home. Yes, Crawley! Our current form is relegation form, I just don't understand what's gone wrong. MKD are looking very good for automatic and I guess they deserve it after recent near misses.

Preston and Sheff Utd could still have a hand in the promotion race.

Plenty of football left yet.

MK Dons are proven course and distance bottlers Don, so don't give up just yet.

They do look good this season though.

Yes righteous, there's still away to go, perhaps I shouldn't feel suicidal just yet. At least Bristol City lost. I agree with you about PNE and the Blunts, I can see it going to the last day.

A defeat (expected, but no goal in reply <groan> ) prompting Fergie's departure (unexpected, but as Furzdonny correctly forecast "End of Fergie time. I couldn't understand the substitution of your little fella, he's the only one who had a go." ).

"Little fella" Otzumer's undeserved substitution plus that of Norris before half-time were indicators that Fergie had finally lost the plot. Thanks for all the good times, Fergie, but time to move on.

Will be interesting to see who we get next.

Life's never dull at Peterborough Utd!

P.S. Fergie left with four other members of staff - where are they all headed?

To be honest it shows MacAnthony saying he is the finest manager in Peterborough's history. I suppose he may come a year or two later again if things still look bleak.
...........
In a statement on Peterborough's website, chairman Darragh MacAnthony described Ferguson as "one of the finest managers in our club's history".

"He feels that a new challenge is needed for both himself and the football club," he added.

Ferguson, 43, was in his second spell as Peterborough manager after returning to the club in January 2011.

He led them to promotion to the Championship via the play-offs that season, but they were relegated on the final day of the 2013 season.

"I'm personally very disappointed in our current league position, the performances from our playing squad and the fact we have dropped way below our own standards we set out at as a football club," MacAnthony said.

"Some fans have questioned my own commitment, interest, investment and passion for this football club recently.

"I am hungrier than ever to get this club back into the Championship and beyond and to deliver on the promises I have made to the city of Peterborough."

During his first spell as Peterborough boss between 2007 and 2009, Ferguson - the son of ex-Manchester United boss Sir Alex - guided them to successive promotions from League Two to the Championship.

Coaches Gary Breen, Gavin Strachan and Jimmy Walker, video analyst Stewart England and sport scientist Marc Lindsey have also left the club, with academy manager Dave Robertson put in caretaker charge.
