Cheltenham - Day 4

They really do save the best for last at Cheltenham and its Gold Cup day people and what a day of top class racing it promises to be.

It is not only the Gold Cup today though that catches the eye as there are a number of top class horses racing today and a perusal of a number of tipping sites demonstrates how open each of those races are today.

The JCB Hurdle and the Albert Bartlett look great races today. Also it is the final day for AP McCoy at the Cheltenham festival and the last race has been named in his honour but more on that laster.

The highlight and standout of the day is the Gold Cup. The Grand National might capture the attention of the public but it's the Gold Cup that is the real prize in National Hunt racing. Interesting that Noel Meade has said he would rather win one Gold Cup than ten Grand Nationals.

It looks like Silviniaco Conti is the form horse and the one to beat and it got a big plug on the Morning Line with Nicholls being in the studio. The bookies are taking it on this morning though buoyed by two previous poor attempts at Cheltenham. The race is wide open and it looks like four or five horses have a genuine chance of winning.

I will put my selections up in a wee bit, couple of things to attend to first but by and large have an idea of who I am going to back. I know I am not betting Ned Buntline in the last, I don't think Cheltenham does Hollywood finishes but even an old cynic like me can see what a good story it would be if McCoy was to win in the last race.

----------------------------------------------------------------------Dont think so. But overhearing the dodgy guy on the bus talking to his mate managed to convince Admin2 to part with £10. This is unheard of.
