I'm not sure if the lads holding out for more money or he's been tapped up by Madrid, either way we need to keep hold of our top talent and we will be a force once again.
Another thought I've had, it could be he just deosnt like the manager, if you go back to tha so called ç documentary, when the boss's had a go at him, I just do t know but everyone I look at them talking he's always looking the other way p1ssed

The club would be idiotic to let him slip if it's about money, and Sterling would be stupid to leave the club at this stage in his career.
The outcome will be he stays.

There's a lot being made if it but there are credible reasons why a new contract hasn't been signed yet. They don't seem to grab the headlines though.

To be fair none of the credible journos (Pearce, Barrett etc) are reporting the story that he has shelved contract negotiations to the summer so hopefully it's bull.
If we do get midway through the summer and it's still not resolved, with one year left on his contract there will be bids for him, ones nowhere close to his value and young player's heads can be turned very quickly.
We don't know what his reasons for not signing are at this stage but if it's a sake of finances and the parties are 20k-30k apart in terms of wages the club needs to pull it's finger out and just get it done. We won't get anywhere consistently selling our best players, Torres, Alonso, Suarez. In some of these cases we didn't have much option but we do in this case and losing Sterling now would be a major setback.
I think most people in football would agree this is the best place for him at the moment, he may dream one day of Barca/Real but he's nowhere near that level yet and he would be a squad player at best. I'm pretty confident he can see it himself and it is a disagreement about finances so we need to get this done as the longer it drags on is bad for us.

It will get done.
They won't be negotiating contracts at this stage of the season.
It will wait until the summer now when several players will be tied down.

There's two years left on his contract.

I heard that there is an agency dispute regarding Sterling's representation and nothing will happen until it is settled. Could be bull but there.

I would be nervous if the teams star man had a contract running down and its still up in the air.
Thankfully we don't have any star men

Time for a reality check.
While it sounds good, almost plausible, the idea that our club is the "best" place for him is pure conjecture. No doubt other clubs, top clubs, at home and abroad, could offer him very good coaching., and he could develop.
The simple fact of the matter, in myview, is money, and how much he, or in particular his new management want to make out of him and our club. That's the bottom line.
The same fact of the matter is that Raheem, great player that he is,isn't bigger than the club. He is great, has great potential, but his name aint Luis. The club has made him an offer; it is pervectly understandable, with the blitz of money being given to the top clubs that he wants a bigger slice, both he and Hendo, but it's a case of take it or leave it.
If he wants more money elsewhere, then, good luck to the lad. If not, he signs on the club's terms. With the amount of talent coming up through from theUnder 21s,it's not the end of the world.
