Can someone who has played a large % of this game tell me whether it has a good story/interesting character(s)?
Because every time I watch someone playing it on Twitch it seems like a never ending session of slashing enemies then coming across more enemies, slashing them and then onto the next and so on.
Just seems like that's all you do maybe I'm just not watching them for long enough (I get bored of nothing happening and move onto something else within about 10/15 mins) but still every time with each different person playing it they all just seem to kill enemy after enemy and that's it.
So, does it have an interesting story beneath all that slashing or is it essentially God of War without the story?

almost always better to play than watch but I don't want to get it if it's just endless killing in between each boss

Randomer I think these games are a battle for survival, balancing your abilities against the unknown battles ahead.
I'm basing this off the Demon Souls and Dark Souls games which follow the same sort of format, it is a non stop killing spree and you will die a lot, figuring out how to stay alive is the real test.

Not to sure what you are getting at my friend as you have now described about 99% of all games that have things to kill.........
Some questions - if you have played demon/dark souls and liked it then get it.
If you want something more challenging than most games out there then get it
It doesn't have an amazing story, the premise of this game is learning difficult fights and overcoming bosses interlinked with a little interesting law.
If you don't like a challenge and want an exceptional story then bloodbourne isn't for you
Also do get any idea of the souls/bloodbourne games you need to watch a good 45 mins in my opinion.

So it's more just a pure challenge than story driven? It seems tempting Simon but does it not get repetitive? That's my main worry I guess
Also I wouldn't say 99% of games are just killing with no purpose and nothing else, there's usually some kind of story/reason for it

For me it doesn't get repetitive at all. Just defeated my 6th boss and find it difficult to turn off. Each area to get to the boss poses different challenges and enemies which makes it loads of fun and occasionally frustrating

6th Boss last I heard you were struggling to beat the second boss, your a killing machine

It just depends how important the story is to you, it has an OK story but the challenge is what has kept me coming back to these games, different from say primarily story driven games like tlou which I do go back to but not as much since the character/story doesn't change however playing with a different type of character changes the whole mechanics of the game. In my opinion it doesn't become boring, though occasional frustrating but the feeling of getting past it for me far out weighs getting past certain story parts in more heavily driven story based games. There is loads of lore in the game, and there are story based reason why you are doing what your doing.
