Strikers strikers strikers........

A creditable gutsy performance last night against an energetic (24 hrs more rest) and dangerous Wolves side. The key difference was they had several pacey, confident strikers/forwards - witness goals 1 and 2. In contrast we scored all 3 of our goals from midfield or pressurizing their defenders. Mirco looked a forlorn figure and looked a yard too slow on his one chance when put through.

In my view IF we can keep the core of this team together (the youngsters, keeper and Bamba in particular) and can add at least one, preferably two, strikers who can act as strong target men (to win aerial ball and hold it up to bring the midfielders onto it) but have sufficient pace and guile to be decent on the deck then we have a chance of challenging for the playoffs next season.

But hey we're Leeds so who know's what's gonna be happening with our great club next week let alone next season.

Our general ball retention and ability to string 5 passes together is downright shocking IMO.

Bournemouth leak plenty of goals but have 2/3 prolific strikers and look where it's got them

I agree 2036, we do need new strikers if we are going to make any headway.

Or we need Reed Bull to pump us with money. Plain white home shirt is one of their kits, their logo would be much more preferable to GFH or Enterprise Insurance, and success on the pitch would mean a full stadium week in week out.

Change of name? It would retain the name Leeds. Little different in terms of continuity from when we went into administration under Bates.

New stadium name? Or even a new stadium? Manchester City and many others have done it successfully and without too much problems.

RB would fit the bill for most fans, but not too many on here I suspect, but they would regenerate the club in terms of getting us into the top flight, keeping us there, getting us on tv, into Europe, and kids from around the world would start following us again.

i actually think we have a poor squad. you look at these teams from 8th to 1st, they all have players that can turn games. we don't dominate games, infact i haven't seen one game where we have battered the opposition, let me put one way, ive never seen Silvestri have a game where he's a spectator, ive seen so many keepers come to Elland Road and are stood doing exercises and playing sweeper because they have nothing to do.

Hmmm, goal tally would significantly reduce I might suggest....

As low says, we have no midfield unit that runs games.
