The Mail are reporting that Van Gaal's been successful in persuading the Old Trafford hierarchy in cutting down the pre-season schedule dramatically to just 12 days. The squad will be back in England by August 1st.
We will be touring America only, after rejecting trips to Asia and Australia, where the club will take part in the ICC Cup again which we defeated Liverpool in Miami last summer. I remember Van Gaal was a bit miffed with our hectic schedule last summer, so it's good news it will not drag on this summer.

Football coming first, good to see.

The tournament is played all over America but this time the promoters have essentially allowed United to choose their own venues as they are so desperate to have England’s most famous club in it.
Well that's very nice of them.

Still only a week back in Manchester before the season starts though, the premiership starts early this year on the 8th of August.

Yeah it does start on August the 8th. I hope we start the season well.

Copa America this year... doesn't finish until 4 July so Di Maria/Rojo potentially have little break again this summer.
This summer is a good time to return to the states though tbh.
In 2016 the USA is strangely hosting the Centenary Copa America... doubt there'll be much demand for anyone to tour then given how that will overshadow the MLS etc.
We'll be heading back to Asia then imo.

Also a good decision if we finish fourth (although I'm hoping we finish higher), because the qualifying matches for the CL proper is in August too. Can't remember the dates though, or if they have been scheduled.

CL playoff dates (should we finish fourth) as follows:
1st leg is on 18/19 of August
2nd leg is on 25/26 of August
