It is very likely the winner of the Pacquiao vs Mayweather bout will be fighter of the year?

Could there be any other contenders. with only just about a third of the year gone it may be too early to tell but hard to see if they could topple the winner of the mega bout.

If Pacquiao wins it, he will be 4 time winner of fighter of the year(Only Ali has done this) and he might bag another Fighter of the Decade as well, (Only SRR has done this)

Mayweather might like to think he is better than both, but Pacquiao would have match their achievements

Only pactards mention manny in the same breath as ssr and ali.

When Pacquiao wins, there an argument to be made that Pacquiao is the ATG no 1.

There's no argument to be made for either of them to be ATG no.1. Too many catchweights, too long to make this fight etc etc.

if they only fight once this year then i dont think they can win fighter of the year based on one performance ... if they rematch and same person wins then yeah there is an arguement but if someone like Crawford fights twice more this year after moving up in weight i would favour someone like that. Fighter of the year from 1 fight would be a joke IMO

Crawford, Golovkin, Kovalev, could all be good shouts.

hey would be early favourites so far in my eyes also. It all depends on who else they fight now tho. I dont see any big names goin in with GGG, and Kovalev needs to be in with Stevenson or Beterbiev this year to be a winner .... would love to see crawford show up Broner then a proper top ranked fighter, that would make him hard to beat for the award

For me its got to be GGG,look at his record ,and he HAS been in with decent fighters . Also holds the record for highest KO rate in Middleweight history !
