What is our best XI?

We're approaching the end of the season and we've all had a good chance to see our players in action (Diaby aside ) and their highs and lows, but I think it's difficult to call both our best system, and the players to put in it. I'm going to pose a couple of options, but if the cup final were at the weekend, and all our players were fit, who would you choose? Potentially:

-----------------------------Ospina---------------------------
---Debuchy--Mertesacker--Koscielny--Monreal----
----------------------------Coquelin--------------------------
------------------Cazorla-----------Ramsey---------------
---------Ox-----------------------------------------Alexis----
------------------------------Giroud---------------------------

Doesn't include one of our best players, but this is possibly our best team - hardworking, defensively sound full backs and a balanced three in midfield. Obvious areas of contention being Debuchy/Bellerin, Monreal/Gibbs and obviously whether Ozil should be left out, and should Ox be included. Alternatively:

-----------------------------Ospina-----------------------
---Bellerin--Mertesacker---Koscielny---Gibbs---
--------------------Ramsey----Coquelin----------------
-----------Theo------------Ozil-----------Alexis-------
-----------------------------Giroud-----------------------

Anyway, your teams please (add a bench if you like).

You can only choose 11 mate.

Because you disagree don't make others choices wrong.

How can you possibly have the best 11 without Ozil. One of the best players ever to wear the Arsenal shirt. People who don't know about the game cannot see that every game he is controlling the tempo of the game. Probing and pulling strings until finally delivering the killer ball. Its not his fault others are missing the numerous chances he provides.

They're lost and clueless and base their opinions on what pundits say because half aren't wise enough to form their own or at least pay attention to the game.

Anyone who doesn't think that Ozil is not the most elite footballer at the club (forgetting form) is lost and knows very little

Garwood, I think Ozil is great, but I'm not seeing this plethora of missed chances that he's is creating. For comparison, when Cesc was at his best I can recall countless clear chances he created only for Adebayor/Bendtner/RVP/Walcott etc. to fluff there lines. I can only think of a handful from Ozil.
--------
Sanchez vs Palace. Would've been assist of the season from Ozil.

Theo vs Leicester, Podolski vs Chelsea away this season, Welbeck on sunday, Alexis vs Boro I could go on

Ozil also created the most chances on sunday check the stats.

Wouldn't know that would you because you're not watching the game properly, bet you hardly remember any named in that list either. Just remembering what you want to make your point but end up contradicted by someone who pays attention then watches the game again given the opportunity.

Exactly why I understand when Wenger says you don't realise how good he's been till you re-watch the game.

That's fairly insulting. I do remember those moments, some of real quality, but others were only really half chances.

Look, I can appreciate what Ozil does, and I'm not trying to do him a disservice, he's a great player. There have been some real moments of magic from him this season - that chance he created for Alexis vs Palace had shades of Pires vs Villa, Ozil's own flick to assist Giroud vs Villa was sublime, and so was his free kick vs Liverpool, and there have been others. And he covers the ground, no doubt about that.

It doesn't take a genius to realise that a player's contribution is more than what he does on the ball, but the way you describe it Ozil (and no other player) seems beyond criticism, which he isn't.

I think you'd be hard pressed to make the case that Ozil has contributed more to the team than Cazorla has this season. You say Ozil controls the tempo but Santi can dictate play in a way that Ozil can't.

Apologies Ron, was a tad harsh

It is a very difficult question as our best 11 players lack balance.

I'd like to see how this works

Ospina
Bellerin Kos Gabriel Monreal
Wilshere
Sanchez Rosicky Ramsey Ozil
Welbeck

I don't see how you can play Walcott, Ozil and Alexis in the same team.

Alexis works very hard but loses the ball sometimes in dangerous areas, Walcott and Ozil are both poor at tracking back to cover - there just isn't enough grit in midfield to play all 3 together.

Personally I don't see how Walcott gets near the first team with the current squad - I see him as an impact player - although admittedly he's been virtually invisible when he's come on since his injury.
