We got blown out of nearly every transfer now daysm . It's pathetic

We might have been interested in him, but the fact his agent took a picture and then posted on Twitter of being around Carrington the writing was on the wall.
However it shows that transfer deals can and should get agreed before the window. With the window then just being used fornthe formality of transferring the player registrations.

We were never interested in Depay, it's just his agent talking rubbish in the press that set off rumours. We were simply used to scare United into paying a large fee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is not the case, we were desperate to sign him, evidenced by a plethora of reports all indicating thus. Now he's made a choice to go elsewhere.. and let's face it this happens to most of the players identified but whom FSG will not pay the market rates for... we can't now deny he was never on the list.

It has nothing to do with that. Short of being a Liverpool fan, every player would chose United over Liverpool. I'm not sure why that's so difficult to understand and accept.

Our only hope was of either Utd not wanting him, or him not feeling ready for that level yet and preferring a guaranteed starting place.
Neither came to fruition.
Our fans have got to accept that most players don't want to play for us ahead of Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and City, not to mention a plethora of foreign clubs.

No chance he will come to Liverpool over man utd, following factors:
Van Gaal - coached him previously.
Can Persie and Blind - international team mates
Wages - man utd can and will pay more in wages
Glamour - champions league all but confirmed
Agent - was at Carrington last week and told the world about it
With those factors you think he's going to liverpool? Even we ain't that deluded!

That's right, lads, admit defeat before you've even brushed your teeth. Looks like FSG have 'managed your expectations' perfectly.

My expectations have been the same for years in terms of transfers before FSG were even thought of. Simply United are in front of us when it comes to attracting players and since then Arsenal moved in front and then came City and Chelsea. That's just the way it is.
In recent years, overall we've been the fifth best, that means, in my opinion and I know some disagree, thinking it's all about money, that we're fifth choice in England. For me players want trophies first and foremost and then they want the highest wage they can get. Since we're fifth best we offer the fifth best chance of trophies and since we're fifth best, to fall in line with FFP we can offer around fifth best wages.
That's the way it is. There's those who accept that and enjoy the ride and those who can't and moan about everything, getting no enjoyment out of it. For me supporting a club is about the enjoyment, so if that means my expectations have been managed then sobeit.
