Jamie Carragher, Phil Thompson, John Barnes, uncle Tom Cobbley and all have weighed in on the Raheem Sterling issue - their argument seems to be :-
(1) You are young and only Liverpool can further develop you.
(2) It's a disgrace that you don't want to stay at the 'great' Liverpool so shut up.
(3) It can't possibly be about trophies, you are just a greedy bar-steward for wanting more money than Liverpool deem you are worth.
(4) Your agent is making you do it and you're too thick to know it.
(5) You're not that good anyway...
The level of bitter attacks is comical and the reasoning laughable - if he wasn't good enough then Liverpool would dump him ruthlessly just like any other club.
These guys need to stop being butt-hurt - contrary to their old smug view Liverpool is not 'special' and they need to wake up to that fact - and the world has changed whether one likes it or not and both clubs and players have reacted accordingly.
Ex-Liverpool players whining about Sterling

I didn't realise Rodney Marsh and Alan Brazil also played for Liverpool

The reaction of ex-Liverpool players is hilarious but expected. Someone needs to group together every middle-aged and old Liverpool fan and tell them, yes, you were once great, you're not anymore. Accept it.

Would love to see the reaction of Liverpool fans if Sterling joins another club on less than 100k per week.
B..b..bb..bbbut hes just a money grabber. His attitude is wrong.
Clearly the lad just wants to develope under the guide of better players than Lambert and Lallana. I genuinely struggle to think of one name in the current Liverpool squad you could expect Sterling to look up to?

I've never seen such a negative media reaction to a player.
Mcnultys article was hilarious.

Why do we arsenal fans always have this siege mentality when it comes to the media? I don't think there is an anti arsenal bias at all. Journos put out articles to get hits and that's all there is to that I feel

Who he supports isnt relevent, what is is his take on the situation. never seen a journo be so critical of a player for wanting to leave a club. That article borders on the ridiculous.

All of McNulty's articles border on the ridiculous.
It's what he does.
