I'm sure he'll fit right in with our strikers haha. Nah I'm not gonna judge him until I see him play for us first 👍
Divock Origi

Personally I'm not 100% sure he'll be with us next season. He's 20 years old, never played in the EPL and irrespective of whether he deserves the 'worst team' slot (I don't watch French football so wouldn't know) it's not a good sign.
Wouldn't be totally surprised to see us loan him out to a lower level EPL team to learn on the job.

hasnt he been playing wide for lille too??
8 goals from wide positions for a 20 year old is not a bad return..
im more worried that people think he might have downed tools a bit because he dident want to be there, we have no need for that sort of player!!

Bud, He's not been played out wide that much. I have kept an eye on his progress. Two problems really.
1) The coach seems to have very little faith in him as an out and out striker.
2) Lille have really sucked this season. Dreadful.
Roux has been the main man and scored one goal more. (9)
Another observation. It's been a farking waste of time with Divock being on loan. He was a far better proposition than Balotelli.
Dreadful judgement by the management or just lo balling the offer too much to get him straight away? You decide.

He has shown enough for Belgium to show he can play.
With their depth he wouldn't even be in their squad if he couldn't.
Whether that will transfer to doing well for us who knows, I'm done with predicting the success or failures of transfers after this season.
It's a lottery.

Origi!

He can't do any less for us than Mario, Fabio or Ricky so no great loss really
What's £10 million when you've wasted £200 million!

In fairness ARE that's hindsight.
Balotelli was a risk but not many wouldn't have predicted it would go as badly as it has.
At the beginning of the season we had Sturridge and Mario with Lambert as back up/plan b and Borini as 4th choice.
Some may have predicted Sturridge's injuries, some may have predicted Balotelli's appalling failure. Some may even have predicted Lambert's lack of impact or Borini's total fall from grace so that he doesn't even make squads.
Not many people would have predicted all of the above happening!
Origi's loan more looks bad now but last summer it made sense.

I wont pretend to have watched him enough,
ive seen the majority of two games of his (not even the whole match) and i cant even remember who the opposition were.
He just happened to play wide (or be coming in from wide) in the two games ive watched, so i believe you when you say its not happened that often, the two times i watched him he seemed to be cutting in from the right of a 4-3-3
i dont think it was low balling, see the above post, he was just one of a host of loans we set up this year that in hindisght we may have benefitted from not carrying out (wisdom at rb being another)

He is part of the Belgium setup so can't be a terrible player/bad player as they have some real quality.
But in the two games I have seen him in he didn't set the world on fire. Would he work well with a fit Sturridge, will he play through the middle for you guys as seeing him as part of a front three at Goodison he didn't impresse.

Suarez was in the worst ligue 1 team of the season too
