Firstly, congratulations on the title, fully deserved and easily the best team in the PL. You will be justly favourites for next year too, best players and cracking manager.
I do think it will be closer though, and wonder who you think will be your close rivals.
City, obviously, all the money in the world, a chance to spend it now FFP is eased plus they have Aguerro.
Arsenal, two new players needed I think, if they get the right ones they will be serious challengers.
United, my team. And I actually think we are going to do very well, biased I know. But LVG is starting to impress me.
This season we had six new players to try and fit in, plus horrendous injuries. Not complaining you understand, every team has periods with bad injuries. But as thinks became settled one or two performances were very good.
I don't know who we will sign, or sell of course, but I think Depay is a good start, Ronaldo lite. I trust him to get the right people in, and players are adapting to the style of play he requires. So, may be deluded, but I think we are going to surprise a few and top two is possible;
Kudos to Joses,appraisal, funny.
I like to know other fans views so what do you think.
Next year

52 SayMyName is a bit of a wum TBH, hard to tell with these guys what they genuinely believe or not but he's generally laughably wrong (well regarding United) whether he believes what he says or not.....
Actually said he believed LVG would finish as low as Moyes did (but with less goals scored! )

Okay fair....
If you want a good prediction of how United's season will go reverse SayMyName's prediction, that's usually a pretty good rule of thumb

I reverse everything he says - he's the nicest most informative, insightful and witty chap on here that way.

Yeah that sounds about right!

but I am optimistic because I think LVG has settled into the role and is becoming aware what is required in the PL
--------------------------------
Is this what you genuinely believe or just what you optimistically hope will happen ?
If I was a Utd fan I'd be satisfied with the season in that you got top four but there really wasn't much competition for that 4th spot this season with Liverpool among others really underperforming.
I think the pressure will be on LVG next season because he'll now need to improve on that 4th spot and show signs that Utd can genuinely challenge for the title given all the money that's been spent on players in the last season or two.
Utd fans have already gone two seasons without a title or trophy and even though many of you will claim to be patient at the moment you'll start getting uneasy if you don't win or at least get close to winning the title in the next season or two.

I genuinely beieve it.
As I say, we had a lot of new players and a lot of injuries.
We still picked up points, he got Young and Fellaini playing really well. Found a role for Mata, had the guts to drop RVP and Falcao.
For a handfull of games we looked really good.
Yes, possession without a cutting edge is a waste of time, but with it you control the game.
So, yes, I actually feel confident about the coming season.
But its all opinions, it's why I posted to know what the fans of the champions feel about next year.

Your barren years must have been really painful. What was your longest stretch?

In fairness as well Superb LVG settling in in the first 10 or so games really cost us a lot of points, just the fact we don't have to adapt to LVG (or him adapt to the league or a mix of the two) is a bit of a boost for next season in itself...

Fair enough but didn't you lose 3 or 4 PL games in a row only a month or two ago in this period where LVG was supposedly more settled than at the beginning of the season.

We lost three, and yes it was a poor run, though it included Chelsea as well.
Never thought it would be plain sailing, and it certainly wasn't. But I do think he knows what he is doing, and that next year will be better.
Plus even SAF, great though he was, took a little time (five years) to get it together.

Yeah we had a run of 3 losses recently, a 1-0 loss away to you, a 1-0 loss at home to WBA and then 3-0 away to Everton I think...
May well have had another 3 game streak like that somewhere (may have like this recent losing streak come after a good run from us)
You will always get little patches of bad form, and in fairness the one game was away to you, which is probably the hardest fixture of the PL season and the West Brom game was a little unlucky (deflected free kick for a 1-0 loss)
You could of course say maybe our original 10 games was also a bad patch of form rather than just LVG settling in. Obviously can't say for sure either way (maybe it wasn't because of LVG settling in) but I am pretty sure we didn't have 10 games in a row with that poor a return in the entire rest of the season.
Which doesn't prove anything conclusively but does lend credence to the argument that it was because of LVG settling in.
We do seem a bit Schizophrenic as the season goes on though, from winning runs to losing runs!

My personal opinion is that next year will be closer however Chelsea will still win it with relative ease. The year after I expect a very strong 3 horse race between Chelsea, United and City and who knows maybe even Arsenal?
