Goalkeeper

I think the majority on here agree that if we're going to put in a serious title challenge next season a new goalkeeper is needed. I haven't completely given up on Szczesny, however I think this season has proved he's not ready. Wouldn't mind him going on loan for a couple of years where he's out the spotlight and can focus on improving his game. Whilst Ospina hasn't really done anything wrong this season, he doesn't inspire, me with confidence and I see him as a good 2nd choice at best.

Ideally I'd like us to sign Cech, however I'm not sure how likely this is to happen. So if we couldn't get Cech who would you realistically like to see us target for our new number 1 next season?

Szczesny is criminally underrated now

Sczes is our best GK but still justified doubts over him however this isn't the key position that will inspire a title challenge, there's arguably 3 more vital positions to improve in.

1. CF
2. CB
3. DM (backup)
4. GK

The outfield spine bar Coq is still incredibly slow and weak.

Neither Giroud or Merts inspire on the most vital occasions (Monaco?)

The CF is at best 3rd on that list. Defences win you titles. You keep harping about our strikers not being good enough to win the title when our strikers only scored 2 goals less than the team that won the title

So we're clearly capable of SCORING enough goals as is. It has been Ch.avski's defensive capability that has been the overriding difference between the two teams. When Chelsea's strikers failed to perform, their defence kept the damage minimal. Hence they dropped far less point than we did.

In terms of what will get us the title quickest...

DM and top Goalie.

The DM to allow us to have a constant Coq type presence in midfield. As for the goalie, Scez's comedies before being dropped and a few goals Ospina has conceded that someone such as Cech wouldn't have actually means that the position you have listed as our least important priority is the one positionof the four you mentioned which could have gotten us the title this season all by itself.

Cech would most likely not have made Scez's mistakes. Definitely would have stopped some Ospina failed to and most importantly of all would have organised and controlled his defenders so much better than either. That means no/less Kos and Merte howlers too. That's a lot of points not dropped.

In football terms, the CF is the icing and cherry on the top of an impressive cake. No point trying to put the icing and cherry on before you've baked and made the impressive cake. You know I genuinely think you'd be happier with us buying Benzema and failing to win the title next season than you would be to see us not buy anyone and win it. You're obsessed man! And like anyone obsessed, you can't see the wood for the trees.

Sign Cech and loan out Szczesny for a season or two IMO. Don't know if that's realistic but it could happen, apparently Southampton want him.

That'd work nicely. We'd have to aggressively push for Cech though. Jose WILL be a about it so we have to make Cech force the deal. Probably easier said than done. Jose's no fool, he's fully aware that giving us Cech could well be handing us enough saved points to romp the title home.

Jose is a defensive specialist so 1 decent goalscorer is more than enough for him considering they can see out games.

We need a better defensive unit which requires upgrading on Merts but Wenger will never have a team so efficient in defending, we're an attacking outfit with a load of creative players therefore a top bracket CF is just as vital.

Even 13-14 when we looked like we finally knew how to defend, the most shocking thrashings in our history came to pass.

For our philosophy the man leading the line is vital our greatest players are usually the ones up the other end and Giroud is far from that bracket, Theo is unproven and injury prone and Welbeck is incapable.

CB is secondly vital because although we're not great defensively we can certainly get closer towards that, Koscielney is world class, we have solid left-backs a trustworthy RB and another with huge potential which just leaves Kos' partner.

Gabriel is too similar to Kos, one will have to adapt their game drastically to work whilst I believe in Chambers and would love him to progress but he won't play much especially in that position next season.

We're actually not that capable of scoring goals either we failed to score at home for 3 games in a row ffs incredibly embarrassing, it took added time to find a way through vs Monaco and that was throwing the kitchen sink at it.

Alexis is our only player capable of producing something from nothing and if he has an off day or is marked out then we're left frustrated.

Striker is top priority, I'm happy for Theo to get a go but Wenger is too loyal to Oli and he'll be favoured over Theo for the short-term and on that basis we certainly need a new CF clearly better than what we have.

What an incredibly stupid comment, buying Benzema is a want because we've been nowhere near the title with both Giroud & Theo.

Seriously you're an idiot
