Am I the only one not totally enamoured by this signing? Is he really that much better than Grant? I don't think there's much to choose between them.
Last year when Grant was injured we loaned a Premier league second choice keeper who was pretty decent.
Hope I'm proved wrong etc, but for me, not that excited about this one.

It's funny how we've forgotten Mr Butland's distribution and his well placed kicks into touch.

I wonder if Kelle Roos is not in the picture, what's Carson's distribution like? I know he was famed for the Wigan long ball to the opposition centre back's.

I can't say i saw enough of Wigan to judge whether he was a good keeper in a poor team or whether he was part of the problem there.

Who knows, actual competition may help Grant recapture his form

I hadn't forgot Butland's distribution but as we didn't sign him it is immaterial. We didn't sign de Gea or Cech either.

I didn't mean Butland per se, I meant there are very good GK's warming the benches of Premier league teams that we might be able to loan should the need arise instead of going out and buying a very "meh" player. I assume Kelle Roos isn't deemed good enough.

It doesn't bleeding matter anyway. All he's going to do is watch all of the goals being booted in at the other end of the pitch. If he can count accurately that may be the reason he has been signed.
