I bought it and really enjoyed it for a few weeks.

Then I got bored because it was just a grinding game to level up. I've not played it in a few months now.

I can see it would be more fun with mates though which didn't apply to me as I don't have any friends who play.

yup a total grindfest .. dont get me wrong some people strangely love this sort of thing but you will be doing the same missions over and over again on the same difficulty, against the same enemies in the same places doing the same thing over and over. There really should be some sorta randomisation to the missions/bounties. Some of my mates play it every day and literally do pretty much the same thing in it every single day.. some may like that sorta thing but it really aint for me.

Also it was billed (and still is !!) as a FPS/RPG there is no RPG ekement in this at all, really none, every character is looking to get the same gear for the same characters and in the end every maxed out character regardless who's character it is if maxed out will be almost identical in gear and weapons. (there is a best weapon and armour for the guardians and everyone is just on a mission to get it.) this aint RPG if every character is aiming to be the same.

They have announced that they are going to release a special edition of Destiny with all 3 DLCs in September, should be able to get an original none DLC version for pretty cheap then.

Requires a lot of time to get somewhere meaningful, Must have team to complete end game content (can't even realistically attempt until your high level.

Played pretty much all the time however after the last expansion I'm struggling for things to do. I've decided I won't be going flawless on Trials of Osiris anymore as too many cheaters. Got everything from the prison of elders etc.

Playing Payday 2 until the taken king comes out now

quite a few of my friends list are playing Payday also ... iv nver played it but from hearing them it sounds pretty damn good?

I only played the demo on PS3 then it gave in and I didn't buy a new one.

If you already have friends that play it's worth it. I'm really enjoying it so far.

in terms of realism how is it ... i prefer tactical and realistic. I hvae about 6 friends that I see on it quite often

U need 5 friends to do certin raids on destiny or your fecked.
With the new house of wolves dlc you need 2 friends to do prison of elders on hard otherwise you'll be on your own

WNM this is what i am worried about and with my time zone difference and limited play time it is another red mark against it and lying out the money to play it - also just got planetside that could potentially scratch the same itch........for free
