Why so much hate for Raheem?

I felt compelled to write this after reading opinions on Raheem on here and on Twitter.

Raheem tweeted for the first time in 3 months the other day, it was about some song he liked, he got 100's of replies from fans with a LFC related username / pic and the abuse the lad got was outrageous.

Money grabber this, traitor etc. Just fúcking ridiculous IMO. How does this help the situation? Why wouldn't Raheem look to leave a club where a huge portion of the fan base seem to detest him and want rid of him? Why stay where you don't feel appreciated by the people who should appreciate you most?

He's never been loved by the fans, that's understandable, London lad, little bit arrogant etc. not generally the type of player Liverpool fans will take to their hearts, a player like Raheem needs to earn the crowds respect. But didn't he go a long way to earning that respect in the second half of 13/14 when he was immense for months, he was a huge part of the second half of that season with IMO the first half v City at home was his and one of the best individual performances from a player that season.

Comments like "he's not fit to wear the shirt" fúck off course he is, he's more than fit to wear it, he's already a very good player, he can and will go on to be top class IMO, if a player with that skill set at 19 is "not fit" to wear the shirt then fúcking no one is.

He is tempted by city or another club, so what, why wouldn't he be, City can offer him more money, CL football, immediate chance to compete for silverware. He's not a local lad, he no affinity with LFC, and people so quickly forget that we signed him from QPR cause we were willing to pay the most money, how is that any different from what City or another club are looking to do this summer? We were happy to sign the lad when we did, was he a turncoat and a traitor then? No, he was a young player looking to move to a bigger club where he could develop in better surroundings, work with better players / coaches etc. but now since he's tempted by a club who can offer him what we did at 15 he's a dirty so and so and should be sold immediately? That's fúcking bóllox IMO and total double standards.

We're a better side with Raheem they without him, he's performed to a really high level with us, we've all seen it first hand, he was poor last season for parts, so what? He's a kid, is he not allowed have dips in form? If he was a local lad he'd be forgiven it, again more rubbish IMO.

Sterling came into our first team at 17 and because as a club we have failed over the past 5 years he had to, and did become one of the focal points of our attack, at 18 he was doing things for us a player in their prime should be. This is what annoys me the most about this, how quickly people have looked to pick out all his flaws and just ignore all the qualities he has. He played multiple roles last season, fúcking wing back, always did a job, works hard in whatever position he's asked to play.

IMO the hate is due to some fans not being able to accept the reality we find ourselves in, that we have to rely on a 20 year old to be one of our main players! We forgave Lallana loads last season cause he was new, he's 26 or so, he should be performing at his peak, yet we've seen Sterling play much much better than anything Lallana has ever produced but because he (like Gerrard) has had his head turned and now he's the devil.

The lad deserves out fúckign respect, and all the grief he gets is fúcking bullshít based on this idea of what we want LFC to be, that's an expectation not a reality, I can see no issue with Raheem considering a move to City, the issue is with LFC as a club, not Raheem, we need to make LFC a place where a player of his talents wants to be.

Thoughts?

He did only do a small amount.

I'm thinking you've never done it where I have consumed loads and am absolutely fine and you should also know that I was a nurse.

Walk through London, which I assume you do, and then blow your nose when you get home.

It's less dangerous than paracetamol.

It's less damaging to muscles than alcohol.

It's less damaging than smoking.

It's less damaging to vitamin deficiency than being a vegan.

I could go on, and on, and on.

It's laughable that people get on their soap box about it.

Those that give out abuse on Twitter are d icks. Back in the day they'd mumble something stupid to themselves. Now, Twitter has given them a platform and we all get the "privilege" of hearing/reading their stupidity. What they say doesn't really represent the thoughts of most Liverpool fans though.

Raheem is a very good player. There are parts of his game that need improving but the raw ability is there. I'd love him to stay because I want good players at Liverpool. However there are a few things I have an issue with.

Firstly he wants to go to another club to win things, or at least compete for things. He had the chance last season to win things. In the semi final against Villa he was pretty poor. He could have helped us get to a final and win something but he didn't. So does he just want to ride on the coat tails of others and win things?

He wants to play Champions League football. He had that opportunity last season, and against fairly average teams like Basel and Ludogrets he did very little. The whole team was poor but he still had an opportunity to shine. Just like Bale did for Spurs a few seasons ago. Bale rose to the challenge, Sterling didn't. So what makes him think he is good enough for CL when he didn't really cut if for us last season?

He needs to prove himself before he can start making demands. I'm sure every player wants to win things and play in the Champions League but you have to prove that you are good enough for it. Sterling has had an opportunity to show he is good enough at that level and he's has really done it.

Having said that I think he is being lead astray by an agent who has ulterior motives for a big move. I don't think Aidy Ward really has Raheem's best interests in mind. I would love to see Raheem sack him, stay at Liverpool and show us all what a great player he can be. Unfortunately I think we've gone past that stage.

If he were to stay and give his all Liverpool fans will show their appreciation and adulation. That is all that supporters want, a player who gives his all.

No it's not a dangerous substance which is why they give it to pregnant women.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

They give it in small doses calculated to an extremely precise value by qualified anesthetists. A regular person can easily overdose and suffer hypoxia, which can easily be deadly.

Booze does far far far far far far far far far more damage to the body, families, society etc. But that's a good old taxable acceptable drug, you're talking pure shíte.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Your point about booze is correct, but that doesn't take away anything from the points I made. I wasn't comparing it to booze. I'm not even saying it should be illegal, I'm saying it can easily become dangerous, which is undeniable fact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you insinuated that Sterling is a drug addict cause he smoked it once, which is obviously total rubbish.

Anything can be dangerous when taken in large amounts, fecking drinking too much water can kill you.

Do you take or have you taken any form of recreational drug yourself?

When someone starts talking about a drug, you can tell the people who have tried it from those that haven't very quickly.

It's not a dangerous substance so long as you don't overdo it (pretty much the same as everything else).

Once again demonstrating you have no idea about the subject at hand but have to blast out an opinion on it.

My wife basically replaced her oxygen supply with it when pregnant for hours on end, when she was in labour.

Seriously, when you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk. It's common sense.

I still like the 'qualified' anesthesist bit. Like there is an unqualified one shotting Raheem balloons in a back alley.
