Yes that's right. Steven Nzonzi is deemed more valuable than Nani / RVP in this window.
This is where player wages come back to bite us hard. We had to practically give berbatov away (£4m) and he was worth at least double that if not more. Same is happening with Nani & RVP. Their ridiculous wages are dictating their fees. Nobody can afford those wages we pay and a high transfer fee at same time it seems.
Fulham paid £11m for a Championship division striker from Leeds a few years ago just to put it into perspective.
Fenerbache are getting good deals there but I imagine they are because both nani n RVP haven't budged far on their wage demands. Player power wins again.
Nzonzi more valuable than Nani / RVP

Football doesn't work like that.
It's about being more consistent than Chelsea not having a better starting 11.
We've been more than a match for them when we've played them, as with the other big sides, but need to put in consistent winning runs against the smaller sides we struggled to kill off.
Whether we can do that remains to be seen.

Casillas ( a washed up keeper ) is going to leave for more than RVP n Nani combined.
Farcical

And presumably, having been at RM for a decade, casillas is on a pretty chunky wage?
So are United's high wages the sole answer to their inability to get decent fees when they sell a player?

Next up get rooney Rooney off the wage bill. Next yr maybe

One can only hope
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I got laughed at when I said rooney would fetch £5-10m if he were sold but, looking at the rvp fee, I doubt rooney would go for much more (given that his wages trump the dutchman's)

Still cannot believe we gave him that long a contract.

given that rooney over the past few seasons has not had as devastating a season as rvp had in his final year at arsenal/first year at united i fear that rooney's decline will be every bit as disappointing as rvp's.
in fact, i will be surprised if rooney is in united's first 11 in the 16/17 season, so either you end up having the most expensive bench warmer in the world or you have to sell him to any club that will have him at any price you can get.

Rooney's decline can actually be mapped accurately from 2010.
Scholesy was right, the lad played too much football over his career. People forget he burst on to the scene at 16. He's played football at the highest level for 14 years.
His body cannot take it anymore, we need to seriously consider replacing him

Casillas only has 1 year on his contract. They can cover that with a signing on fee without breaking the wage structure.

i thought rvp only had one year left on his contract? though i guess a 30 year old GK has a lot more playing time ahead of him than a 31 year old striker, but as someone else said, every time you watch casillas these days he seems to have a mistake in him.

Yeh I expect that Casillas will play until he is 40, so you get plenty of service or there is a resale value. He also has an excellent injury record, so you know he is almost certainly going to be available for the vast majority of the season. You can't say the same for RVP. That said, he is rumooured to be getting a 4 year deal. Very surprised at that if it is correct. I think that there are a lot of factors that you have consider when it comes to transfer fees and we as fans often just look at the fee and can't understand the reasoning.

If we carry on with our slow possession based football we will still do well in certain games, perhaps the big ones again but there will be times when we come unstuck despite having 75% of possession for example.
We need to improve on the creation of chances and to be more ruthless in front of goal. Do the latter and we could be up there
