Pretty sure for nearly 2 decades that teams other than the champions enter the competition. That may go against the name of the tournament but pretty sure those are the rules.

Not only did they win their league,last season they progressed further than any English club in the competition.

So irrespective of the perceived weakness of their domestic league they still did better than the premier leagues finest

Yeah I forgot PSG have a great record in the CL. Usually if you're bought by a billionaire who's happy to splash the cash you do fairly well.

That may be the case but PSG are in a one team league. Is there any other team in the French league that would even get a draw against a bottom 3 prem team? Prem teams actually prove it in Europe. Not in one team leagues. Other than PSG the rest of the French league teams are ligue 1 standard at best.

Monaco managed to beat Arsenal Wenger former club Monaco even beat Arsenal in the emirates cup and in 1st leg at the emirates stadium. Maybe Wenger wanted Monaco his favourite club to feel welcome.

They did it the right and proper way by entering the Champions league as the champions of their domestic league

I agree. It's ridiculous that the Champions League is not for (just) champions and is not a league.
