ever heard of stearman and batth ?

I personally haven't read on this forum of anyone having a go at Batth. However, I'm inclined to believe that KJ made Batth captain at the time, as there was a lot of concern as to whether he would sign a new contract and so was offered the armband in order to keep him at the club.

Not sure when he's due back in training, but it'll be a while until he's match fit again.

It would be completely stupid to offer someone the captaincy just to keep them at the club and I don't believe Kenny is stupid.

Appointing DB as captain had everything to do with getting fans back on side and little to do with whether he was the right player to do the job on the pitch and to be fair it worked.

It won Jackett a lot of fans, convinced people youth would be given a chance, rewarded one of the few who came out of the relegation season untainted and lets be honest the role of captain in football is largely ceremonial.

Again, that's only your opinion. Can you give a valid reason why he was made captain then DJ, ahead of the more senior players such as Stearman?

Wolfie when I come on here I give my opinion, I never feel qualified to give the opinion of someone else. If it helps you understand what football forums are about I will start to write in my opinion at the beginning of every sentence

DJ. I'm not asking you for you to give the opinion of someone else. All I'm asking you is a simple question as you think my scenario was stupid. Why would KJ give the armband to Batth when Stearman has more experience and is the captain for now?

You're a master at criticizing mine and others opinions, but don't give a valid reason for doing so.
