Maybe if Celtic like Malmo weren't sure they would be playing for a champions league spot every year, may be a better scenario for Celtic and make them utilise their cash better in transfers and playing in the group stages which they have soaked in cash from over the last few years when their best players left to play in England, etc, unlike Celtic, Malmo have to contend with the likes of AIK Stockholm, IFK Gothenburg, Elfsborg, Helsingborg, to play champions league football and Gothenburg have been the dominant team in that league for years, this means that Malmo may not get the chance to play at this level for maybe 4/5yrs, maybe even 10yrs, etc, this can be similar in countries such as Portugal, Greece, Holland, Turkey, there's competition to be able to play in the champions league every year in these league's, whereas Celtic know they will play for it every year, it gives the board an excuse not too spend to replace players left immediately, and allows the team to be not so motivated, rest on their laurels in a way, as other countries entrants who know they must make the most of the opportunity when they get the chance, don't know what you guys think??
