You don't deserve an 8 if you were "awful" in the first half, surely? Especially considering how bad Brugge were in the second imo. I don't think any of our players deserved more than an 8, when you bear in mind the opposition, apart from Roo (8.5).

I actually thought Shaw found himself in many bad positions tonight. Most fullbacks without his pace would have been very caught out some of the places he was lingering. This game proved however Herrera needs to be deployed more in the hole alongside Mata and Memphis. Said before the game started he needs to get a goal or assist to show LVG he is worth it to play.

Hernandez absolutely dreadful and that was summed up by the look LVG and Giggs gave each other after his class pen.

To consider how poor he was in that first half, what character to come out in the 2nd half and play that brilliantly.

I'd have given him a 7 which is still good. I just think it's generous to give a player such a high mark after saying he was awful for half the game. Also, I think all the scores were generous as I said. Brugge made us look better than we were in the second half. Not saying we weren't good, just that they were abysmal for 20 min or so. I don't choose to see it that way, that's just what I saw. Fair enough if you saw it differently.
