So I just started the Witcher 3 and I really can't get used to the character's movement.
I would let go of the left analog stick and he would continue walking for varying distances, or if I even flick the left stick he walks forward indefinitely. Or when I try running and barely touch the stick and he runs at a full right angle to the direction he was previously running.
I don't think I've seen anyone else mention having this problem. And it has only been exacerbated by the fact I've been playing Bloodborne for the last month or so and it just seems even worse as a result
I'm surprised more people haven't noticed this. Maybe I just need to adjust, but it seems so unbalanced and inconsistent, I don't feel like I'm in control of the character.
What are your thoughts on the controls?

Got to be an issue with your controller. Never encountered this on my two playthroughs

Yeah I'd try a different controller and see if that fixes the issue. Not played it, but everything I've heard has Witcher 3 down as one of the best games out there at the moment. Feels like it'd be included in reviews if it were crap movements.

Have you tried the alternative movement setting? Some people did say they didnt like the movement and in patch .04 or .05 there is an alternative movement options that is what i used.
But it doesnt help that you come from bloodborne, i done the same but give it a few hours and you can start to find the fun in the witcher as well.
My tip to any new player is turn the difficulty setting down until you are happy with the combat and movement. For example i started on hard, dropped to medium for a few monsters in the opening chapter, as even the griffen was kicking my ass, got comfortable kiling stuff and started to find it easy, moved back to hard and really enjoyed the game and ng+ i wil be playing on wild hunt or what ever its called.

I switched the movement to alternative and put the right stick sensitivity down and it's better now, though he still continues walking at random points when I let go of the left stick.
Certainly much more manageable now though, and btw what a game world

Yeah Simon I looked it up and some others were having similar issues Alternative movement has improved it.
A lot of them had also come straight from Bloodborne

Now if only From Software and CDPR can merge, and Witcher 4 would be the perfect game! The amazing world and monsters of the witcher, with amazing combat and boss battles in Bloodborne/Souls

would be a long time before you'd need to buy another game.

cant say iv ever had a roblem with the movement ... granted i havent really played bloodborne. I didnt change anything sure the movement stick is a little sensitive but it didnt take long to adjust to it (i always played CoD on very high sensitivity settings) cant say iv had any problems with walking on after I have stopped pressing it etc. The only problem i have come across is when there is a loot bag right next to a candle !! light/extinguish/light/extinguish/light ............. loot .. YAY, "a bloody platter?!" , "Boooooooo" lol.
Obv not been able to play it all recently but im about 5 hrs in and I still think it has me more hooked than Metal Gear .... I didnt expect that at all !

Delboy I have a problem with MGS, i cant quite put my finger on it, it seems to be the same problem i had with TLOU. I enjoyed playing it, and i respect it a lot for what it brings to gaming.............but the witcher i just found more fun, i am only like 6% into MGS but im actually looking forward more to the Witcher Expansion. Maybe I will play more and something will click like Bloodborne, but please dont get me wrong i am loving MGS and what it has to offer, there is just something about it.
