Well a quick turnaround to put Saturdays disappointment behind us with the visit of Swindon.
A team like ourselves favoured for a challenge amongst the front runners are currently 4 points better off than us in 17th.
The managerial merry go round has been in full swing since last Saturday with 2 more names rumoured to be in the hat that being Shaun Derry and Steve Evans.
Derry like our pre decessor has not found the step up to management to be easy and has been removed from such positions due to not achieving targets met. A name many fans are hoping we dodge!
Evans too is not favoured among rovers fans due to his misdemeanours at Boston gaining them entry into the football league at a time when our rivalries were high.
Who ever we get needs to be appointed soon and with the culling process and interviewing starting soon hopefully an announcement will be made before time!
Swindons away form reads 2-1-1 so a tough game is on the cards. However they have already lost in South Yorkshire this season and struggled to get past 2 league 2 sides in 90mins in both cup competitions.
Previous head to head records read rovers 9 wins 8 draws with 3 Swindon wins. Swindons only ever win at rovers was last season a 2-1 defeat in March on a Tuesday night!
Rob Jones post match said he demands a response so let's hope that starts tonight!

Right Hound, we are coming up from the south and should be able to get to Doncaster before 2:15pm, so we can meet at the Main Reception at 2:15 and perhaps have a pint before the game. In contrast to you, I am tall dark and handsome. Well I used to think I was, but I am now white-haired, 70 something, slightly stooping, emaciated and bespectacled, although I can still walk without the aid of a stick. (My wife is younger though and will be looking after me!)

hound.
Joking aside, I think we all would enjoy a few beers and a good flipping laugh if we did bump into each other before a match. (Preferable L€€ds)

Just listened to RJ's pre Barnsley Press Conference.
SOD was obviously technical and detailed in what he said; DS was usually upbeat and optimistic; Brian Flynn was cagey; Dickov was Dickov, but RJ is incredibly genuine and engaging. I think that he would beat anyone to the job if it were just a case of judging him on his personal qualities; he seems to radiate honesty, respect and a confidence that is never arrogant. He seems to have the right measure of every attribute that you could possibly want of a manager of any organisation.
Of course it does not prove he can do the job, but he certainly has an excellent grasp of the qualities needed and an ability to communicate really effectively.

Don, heavier than usual traffic caused us to be a bit late and we got to the main reception at 2.20 so sincere apologies for not getting there for 2.15.
As we were approaching on foot i was looking out for who i thought may have been you from what you wrote and if your "younger wife" has long brown hair and you had a red jacket on, then i may have passed you.
(Just out of interest, what colour hair does your older wife have?)
We then wandered back to the bar outside of the West Stand to see if you were in there but it was packed so it was no chance.
I would have liked to have bought you that pint so perhaps next time you come up we could try again.
Anyway, having said all that, i hope you enjoyed the match and what a good win it was.

Hound: So fate intervened. I had not even one wife with me when I took a seat in the Main Reception, she having chosen the outlets in preference to the pleasure of meeting you. I was actually in there for a quarter of an hour till 14:30 looking out for someone in search of a rendezvous. But no likely suspect appeared.
So we shall have to hope we are spared for a date at some time in the future.

Ah, so that is where it all went wrong then.
We stood outside looking for you (two) but didnt think of looking inside the reception area.
With hindsight and knowing that you are exceptionally old now, we should have considered that you would be in need of a seat.
Being an old(ish anyway) fart (xon!!) we could have both sat on the seat and had a natter.
Hopefully we will survive long enough to try again.
