I've read lots of articles since Sunday's depressing match about how we need more central midfielders to complement the 3 wingers we will now have available. Surely if nothing else Sunday highlighted how bereft we are of central strikers. Mirco did well and was unlucky to have his goal chalked off but long balls were meat and drink to the boro centrebacks and we didn't have a target man to aim at in the 6 yard box (excepting the great cross from Botaka which Mirco got his head onto). I really do hope Wood is not out for Saturday otherwise Uwe needs to dip into the loan market fast, or perhaps give Irwin a go (although apparently he's not a classical No9).

Ant and Wood are good strikers, however neither are capable of leaving high lines for dead. Thisis what top teams have. If defenders who are naturally stronger than most strikers only have to worry about out muscling you, then its a party for them as we have seen.
However they know speedy strikers are protected by the ref, and capable of getting them sent off for professional fouls etc. Fast wingers are great for getting down the flanks, but a pacy striker is what gets you those clear cut chances and those meaningful counter attacks.

We need another striker in to compete with Wood, we also need a playmaker who picks up assists regularly not once a season like the current crop. Gotta give Erwin and Douk a few minutes, those two are like Grella and Showunmi back in league 1, cant get a look in

If he doesn't make use of Erwin when Wood is out then why keep him...let the lad go but dont' try to ruin him by letting him rot.

Shaun - have you seen Doukara play? Sorry, but he's like a bull in a china shop. Any positive outcome is sheer luck! He can't control the ball, he simply tries to barge his way through. As the saying goes (and apologies to our cousins across the Channel), he has the touch of a French rapist.
Doukara isn't the answer. And I don't care what the question is.

Ermin was getting pretty good reviews up here in Scotland ( and Yes I know it's not the Championship) but I believe Rosler is making a mistake by not giving him a fair crack of the whip ......................but unfortunately it's Roslers call.
