What do we expect today?
Still getting over the trauma of that shocker a few weeks back.
Don't really know what to expect today given that we will play slow controlling possesion football with little penetration while Everyon will play quick aggressive football.
Would take a draw right now considering we have a long trip to Moscow midweek, and then the derby next week.
Jones has to start against Lukaku. Blind needs to go to left back. Imagine Lukaku aganist Blind......
And hopefully Herrera and Schneiderlin get a look in today.
1-1

Knobb we did start games like Swansea away Aston Villa away Newcastle Utd home, Wolfsburg home. Even PSV away we were one sided in first half and it died down in last 30 minutes when we run out of energy after 1st half exploits.
Remember Tottenham home and away last season we start 1st half on fire and Arsenal at OT in the league on fire and then it dies down especially last 30 minutes of games. Shots in this period will prove me correct.

I thought it was Wolfsburg who started "on fire" against us, if anything. They finished quite strongly as well and I think we were fortunate to win.
Against Swansea and Newcastle, yes, the first 25-30 minutes were our best periods of the game. But we didn't score in either first half, to our great detriment.

Perfect example is this last season Stoke City Everton at home we are one sided in first 60-70minutes. All of a sudden we start tiring and end up hanging on in a game the opponent had 2 or 3 shots in first 70minutes.

Genuine question Hafi. Do you watch the games or do you collate your views using the post match stats?

I watch all the games. I don't look at results but performance levels.

Regardless of what those statistics say, we were second best for parts of both the first and second halves of that game. They passed it around more quickly than we did and we struggled to cope at times.

We improved, there's no doubt about it, but I think they were happy to let us have the ball. Totally different from the Wolfsburg game where we were hanging on.

Wolfsburg barely created any chances though. They had 1 shot they dragged wide in 2nd half as there best chance and the goal in 1st half through Valencia pushing up to late and thats about it. We could easily have scored 6 or 7 against them.

Did we batter Arsenal in the second half? Could have sworn they missed 3 or 4 very good chances.
