This guy has been a rock for nigh on a year. Yet he continues to get very little plaudit.
I remember watching him at Malaga a few years back. So I was a little annoyed he was playing that shockingly. But in hindsight it was just him getting used to the tempo of the Prem.
And look at him now. He combines both defence and attack in perfect balance. Most importantly he's a rock at the back. Kinda reminds of Sagna in a way (albeit not as strong obviously).
But he's a top player as of right now. He's one of the first names on the sheet.
Monreal- So Ridiculously Underrated

Dubbed, Payet in fairness is very good. That good he is in my fantasy team and has done me proud all season. It was the only shinning light for me as I walked home from the emirates depressed on the first game of the season.

When was Monreal ever "shocking"? He was always solid if unspectacular. Even when he stood in at CB last year I didn't think he did a particularly bad job.
Wait... surely fans on here wouldn't exaggerate about the level of a player they didn't like would they?
Anyway, he's definitely stepped up a level now though. Quality player.

Monreal is poor. He's low talent playing the best that he can. Good luck to him

In his first full season with us he was pretty bad, tucked in too tight to Kos and left a lot of room down the left flank
Wasn't the same player as we had seen in the 6 months previous or 2 seasons since

He's come on leaps and bounds since he first joined. In particular, after his stint at CB, he seems to have developed massively from an aerial standpoint, and never really gets caught out by diagonal balls or crosses to the far post.
Not the most athletic full-back - again, when he first joined, there were question marks after he struggled against Lennon, Sessegnon etc - but reads the game so well that this is rarely an issue.

Monreal will never reach the heights that Bellerin can, but there's a hell of a lot of Sagna about him. I trusted Sagna at centre back and I could say the same about Monreal.

Bellerin will always get more plaudits due to his style and unreal pace. Monreal though has been our most consistent performer since start of last season. He knows exactly when to go and when not to and has a good cross too. Defensively very Sagna like

When do foreign full backs ever get plaudits?
