Boxing has fallen, MMA has taken over.

There's no point in boxing fans trying to deny this fact that is scientifically proven. GGG vs Lemieux only sold 150,000 PPV's!? That is chump numbers from bum fighters.

The UFC hold the numbers now, boxing fans need to transfer while you still can before it's too late. If you are not a UFC fan by 2016 then I will close the lid on transferring over from boxing to MMA. Anyone who tries to transfer after 2016 will be stamped out of existence by me.

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. carried boxing for years, without him you are nothing. Boxing is starting to implode, fighters ducking each other meaning the fights that the fans want to see doesn't happen, stupid weight classes, promotion's not agreeing deals quick enough. There aren't many characters in boxing anymore, the only one you've got is the Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko fight which is very embarrassing to be honest. They would get absolutely mauled in the UFC.

That is all.

The best Ppv star in ufc ever is a WWF wrestler the highest now is a women which is crazy! Only fighters outside rousay breaking what cotto canelo break is Macgregor and Jones when he comes back. Cotto canelo will probably be more expensive aswell

I'm certain if the main attractions on the cards stay injury free UFC 194 & 195 will both do more than 1,000,000 PPV.

It will be a while until boxing can match that again, they need to learn from the UFC model, until they do they will always lag behind and that's from a fan of both sports.

Has it not occured to morons like the OP that people enjoy both boxing and MMA?

Boxing will never die, especially in the UK where it is thriving more than ever.

There's more to a sport than PPV sales, especially when almost all big UFC fights are PPV whereas a lot of boxing main events/title fights aren't shown as PPV.

There's no denying UFC's popularity just now but as the sport progresses fights are slowly but surely becoming more boring as fighters become more well rounded, becoming clones of each other and neutralising each other.

sure MMA has taken over

It's popular right now as it's the new bandwagon sport Conor McGregor is drawing people into the sport whichis a good thing but so many new MMA fans haven't got a clue about the technical side of the sport.

boxing is and always will be a better combat sport, much more cultured and it's a better discipline.

A good boxing fight is better then a good MMA fight every time, the best part of an MMA fight is when they stand and trade but they spend most fo their time on the ground where unless you're really into the technical side, half guard, full guard etc. it's very boring.

UFC, one weight-class belt. Fighters matched up in their prime having to face each other. There's been far more entertaining UFC fights out there this year alone than boxing matches in the last three.

Robbie Lawler vs Rory MacDonald or Mayweather vs Pac..... what would you want to watch?

The best boxing fights are great, and so are the best MMA fights.

But put simply, I've watched boxing all my life and I have been watching MMA for about 10-11 years now.

In those 10 or 11 years watching MMA I have seen a lot more great fights than I have in my whole life as a boxing fan, and it's not even close.

The percentage of fights in boxing that have me on the edge of my seat is a lot lower than it is in MMA.

But I don't see it as a competition, I would urge boxing fans to give it a real chance, coz I firmly believe any boxing fan would become a MMA fan if they gave it a proper chance and educated themselves on the sport a bit more, a great example of MMA at it's best would be the entire UFC 189 card give or take 1 or 2 fights.

I'd advise anyone with the slightest interest to download it(legally of course )It was the most phenomenal night of fights i've ever seen.

UFC 193 with record breaking numbers. Boxing is being left behind, fast.

A part of me thinks OP only started following MMA once Conor McGregor started opening his mouth in order to move up the ladder
