We seem to have some very highly rated youngsters just below or just in the squad yet aren't going to get any game time with the main team.
Should we be looking now to loan these out for the remainder of the season or is being around the main squad and player youth games better for their development?
Players like
Onomah
Winks
Veljkovic
Walkers-Peters
Carter-Vickers
Personally I'd send the lot out on loan and re-asses them in summer with looking to replace Fazio with one off CCV or Veljkovic and see how the others have got on
Your thoughts?
Youth players.

Can't remember who said it but I agree - would be v happy for Sherwood to return to run the academy stuff again by all accounts.

"Pritchard before the severity of his injury was found, was going back out on loan.....again to the championship! "
In pre season Pochettinno stated that Pritchard would be part of the 1st team squad and he was ready to challenge for the first team and that he believed in him.
Also haven't Winks and Onomah made their debut's under Poch??
Carter Vickers who has just signed a new contract (so someone behind the scenes is doing their job) is also training regularly with the first team squad.
Regarding Veljcovic, i can understand the young lads concern as he was part of his international side U20 world cup win but its difficult for him to get anywhere near the 1st team picture at the moment. Is he really going to get in the team ahead of Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Wimmer etc?

I don't want this to sound like a personal attack on LLM, but when we signed Dier LLM said that he was bought for the development team.
He also said that we will be looking for a new manager by xmas or January.

We must be the biggest pull for a good youngster currently....Saints will be up there obviously, but in terms of size and facilities, we have the upper hand.
Take a look at our 22 senior outfield PL players, and you'll see 11 that have been either through the academy or have been signed and broken in to the first team at 21 and under......Davies, Rose, Walker, Dier, Alli, Bentaleb, Mason, Carroll, Townsend, Pritchard, Kane. That is huge motivation to sign for us.
This is obviously a golden time for us, and could be a huge legacy from now on. We don't need masses of players coming through every year, but if we could average between 1-2 good ones a year we are doing well.
A Chelsea mate of mine has laughed when I said our academy can see us compete at the top level in the future, and that Barca is our template. He said clubs have tried it and failed over here, but it's usually a smaller club with less hold in their players. Realistically the only clubs buying our top players are the really high end clubs.

@dont cry
Dier was bought by the developmental team as a replacement for a player we had called grant hall who was basically an experienced 22 year old defender. Dier played in the first team because of injuries took his chance and excelled. I know all about dier cos I have read his scouts report which is why i know about his time in Portugal in great detail. I believe he was brpomfields last proper signing (might be wrong)
It's why I am so quick to praise poch in regards to diers development.
It's just my opinion on poch buddy. I think we would of done slightly better with a different coach (I do like poch) but it's no drama.

The next few years in this country are important. The levels of immigration are so high over the past 10 years that there is no local link so you can't pull players in. For example in Tottenham loads of talented Turkish and African kids but the parents don't care about Tottenham they care about galatasaray or tranzonspor you can't then tempt them like the old days. Get your kid to sign and we will give you a season ticket.
That's where the likes of Arsenal are so successful at recruiting they throw big big money at British born kids and the foreign parents will take the money because they did not grow up supporting Tottenham.
Hope your well Henry!

Have you heard if we are going to try and get Ramsey back in the Academy?
If we don't try then we are foolish IMO such a great coach, very knowledgeable and twice the coach Ehiogu is.

Don't even talk to me about ugo or Kieran mate. I'm not bashing them but they really think they are the business. McKenna I promise you puts his Cv in for every job at the club and then sulks when he doesn't get it. Famously sulking for not getting the u21 job after inglethorpe (despite having no experience lol)
Ramsey and sherwood are out there but John McDermott is back to being in charge. Sherwood took mcdermotts job roles away. I cannot see him ever ever giving Ramsey a chance.
Would love it though obviously. You know the score with Ramsey one of the best youth coaches in the country.
