The first episode of the final series of Peep Show aired last night and I wondered what people thought of it? It was nice to see Mark, Jez and Super Hans back on it and basically being again but I feel the episode and the previous series lacked something, it felt a bit odd.
I think the problem is Jeremy and his sh**ty life, it's a bit too tragic and depressing now he's in his thirties. It was funny when he was in his twenties not knowing what to do with himself and although his music was awful he at least had a purpose and was making a bit of cash odd-jobbing.
I watched the last episode of series 8 just to re-jog my memory since it aired three years ago. Jeremy comes across like someone with serious mental health issues rather than a loveable loser who can't quite get his act together and sleeping in a bath/bed with his food and kettle next to the toilet was genuinely depressing.
I think it should have ended when Mark and Sophie got the annulment and he meets Dobby, Jez was working for the record label ran by the bald fella who was in a comma.
He puts is feelings for his bosses girlfriend to one side and grasps the opportunity that's been handed to him, like an adult, that would have wrapped things up nicely IMO. I love the show though and I'm interested to see how they wrap things up
Or maybe I'm over thinking it...

Just got back and caught it on +1. Didn't quite hot the highs of some of past episodes but had me laughing my assets off in places. Looks like they are kicking into gear after a slow start (by its high standards).

I used to be the biggest Peep Show fan but this series has just been way too forced. The whole Jeremy being gay storyline sounds like it was a decision being made by the writers at a Wetherspoons on a Monday afternoon as an afterthought.
The two stars are massively over exposed on other shows and there has been too big a gap between Keep Show series for us to really invest in the characters anymore .
Tonight's episodes was a solid 5/10

Aye, I know there's been weird sexual moments with Jez in the past "the bad thing" etc but I think there must be something else going on that hasn't came to light, Jez being a rent-boy to pay his rent or debts or something, I can't believe they'd do the "lets just make this character gay now" like it was an episode of Hollyoaks or EastEnders or something.

Yea, they haven't just "made him gay" ... He slept with a woman in this episode too.
It is just a continuation of Jez just doing whatever he wants for self gratification.
Peep Show is a charicature of modern life, not a reality based comedy like the Office.
I thought last night's was hilarious... over the top, but who cares. They are clearly going to push things and go out in a blaze of glory.

The last ep was funny, Mark and Jez being total 's is always a good watch.
The woman who plays April was hilarious in the IT Crowd, "Aaarg look at me, having a conversation".
