Debate with a friend & wondered what the general consensus was. Quite simple really, who was the better partnership?
Gerrard & Torres (08/09 season)
Sturridge & Suarez (13/14 season)

Suarez and Sturridge.
Gerrard and Torres would beat the opposition, but Suarez and Sturridge would destroy the opposition.
Even with us leaking 2 or 3 goals a game, SAS were still winning us games, constantly scoring 3, 4, or 5 goals a game.
And they were completely unstoppable.
SAS

Agree, they obliterated opposition on a weely basis and they weren't flat track bullies either, they did it against the big boys.

Not sure about that.
They lost both games vs Chelsea and 2/3 games vs Arsenal and 1/2 vs City.

Suarez and Sturridge in terms of productivity. Gerrard and Torres in terms of understanding and teamwork.

As someone pointed out earlier, Suarez scored more goals than Gerrard and Torres combined. And then you've got the 20 goals to add on from Sturridge. They had more assists too, and neither took pens.
It was the attack that made the 12/13 team as good as it was (primarily those 2), whereas the 08/09 team was as good as it was mainly because of the spine of the team.

SAS are the best double act strikers since Cole & Yorke but they won't ever be as good as Baros & Mellor

Suarez and Sturridge
As a player, Nibbles is probably the best Liverpool have had since Kenny.

Suarez without doubt the best player i have seen in red in my 25 years as a Reds fan. You just knew when he got the ball something special was gonna happen! I miss him.
