Innocent people literally blown up into pieces
I don't expect Twitter to be loaded with sympathetic hashtags for those victims nor do I anticipate the nigerian flag to be put on Facebook's profile pictures anytime soon
Ja 606 could lead the way and start a trend though , can't we?
Here goes:
#pray for Nigeria
In 3 , 2 ,1 ... let's go.

Just reading through this thread, I love the constant questioning to those who oppose state violence; "Yes but what would you do!!??".
Reminds me of this brilliant satirical mock interview on just this topic by David Swanson:

I think most people are just numb to everything now. Especially with some of the stuff you see online. When I was younger it was a big thing to have seen a dead body, now you see them all over Facebook and Twitter.

Crap article.
Can't you mourn the people in Nigeria without having to offend those grieving for the Paris victims?
If you honestly gave a crap about the Nigerians then you would have written an article just about that incident. Instead you chose to have a pop at people which just shows that you actually couldn't care less about the victims of either tragedy.
Well done you.

Just because people have shown support for the Paris victims, doesn't necessarily mean they have no empathy for victims of other attrocities!
They are not mutually exclusive.

Of course people are more upset when people close to them are killed. And by close I mean similar lives, living in places or cities many of us have visited. Shared life styles and aspirations.
Deaths far away with people we do not relate to will never grab our attention the same. I would think that a tragedy in Asia or Africa would get more column inches there than one in Europe.
I don't say that's how it should be but it(s human nature.
Family first, then local, then national, then europe, then rest of the world; That's how we are affected.

BTW, Admins, have you guys ever thought of creating a section of the site for current events? Think it be better since it wouldn't clutter up the sports team pages. Just a thought.
