Trying to make out its not about a stadium, but about a regeneration of the area...elstone has been found out there!
Council should just come out and say, yes, we will spend on the wider regeneration, but not a penny goes into your construction costs for the stadium...thats the committment they want....isnt it???

No football club should receive financial assistance from either the local council or government imo.

Mr R.
Depends what the money is for.
If it is for leisure and schools attached to a community based stadium, roads and access then they should.
If it's to fund the stadium build, then no.

OK, maybe in some cases football clubs should receive funding from councils & government for such proposals.

It'd be tough to redevelop Goodison. There's no room.

But with council help roads, houses and infrastructure can be sorted out.

Bullens Rd side you've got the school. Main Stand side is full of houses. There's some room on the back of The Park End. You'd be dishing out a hell of a load of cpo's.

Another north-eastern club is funded by taxpayers, or should I say Londoners?

We talked about this already. Your mum has offered to turn tricks to help make up the shortfall in funds.

Isn't that for paying Rooney's wages?
Now, it's your mum's turn to buy bricks and mortar

Always go with experience. So your mum would be enough
Plus who said its for bricks and mortar? Do you know what the council funding is for?
