New Manager..

Only need to look at Liverpool since Klopp took over to see what a new manager brings. Fresh ideas and a change of tactics and so far its working wounders for Liverpool. Thrashed Chelsea, City and now saints away from home something we would never do in a million years under this Wenger.

When he does step down it better not be freaking Remi Garde that takes over as thats what i've been hearing.

Only Pep will do..

There are people out there that think Gazidis is doing the same job Dein did? Dreamworld.

As previously noted (for your good self) the debate continually embroils (your romanticism of) Dein.

Somewhat peculiar that you chose to dispute actual comments made by Gazidis to the club’s shareholders. Despite (on occasion) being in attendance.

The discussion did not relate to the ‘quality’ of work completed (good or bad) simply that SOME of Dein's duties had been subsequently fulfilled by Gazidis.

Why would Pep or Klopp or managers of that stature want to work under the shadow of Wenger being their boss... don't see that kind of set up working. Gazidis doesn't do exactly the same job as Dein but has a lot of the same roles. Gazidis is very good at his job imo, only got unfairly criticised when we didn't have money to spend.

"simply that SOME of Dein's duties had been subsequently fulfilled by Gazidis."

Fair enough, don't think anyone would disagree but I think most people accept the footballing side that Dein was massively involved in Gazidis won't really go near. It's not his skillset, this is his first job at a football club.

both of them were mainly dealing with transfers and contracts, Dein had more input on the football side. Wenger and Dein are still close though and probably talk about all the same things.

Read the article. Its the closest insight we are EVER going to get on WHY Arsenal were successful in the early Wenger era.

And then ask yourselves whether an administrator from the MLS who was partly hired on the say so of Arsene Wenger is going to have the gravitas to advise Wenger on footballing matters.

Gazidis has been a very good CEO in managing a huge takeover. And its to his credit that Stan Kroenke did not fire him as happens in most takeovers to upper management. To suggest that Gazidis advises Wenger on the footballing side completely misses the point on how roles are defined at board level. Arsene Wenger has been doing the job of two men since 2008. This is one the biggest problems we are going to have trying to replace him. This is why Gazidis has gone on record so many times recently and in the past on why he is always desperate for Wenger to stay. Its one reason why Josh Kroenke is now taking more hands on role as he can see that 'Wenger's reign' is going to be over sooner than later and he will need a major corporate shake up with the appointment of director of football and a new coach when that happens. Overmars has even tried to 'put himself forward for the job' recently but I agree with Gazidis, that the technical director to be Arsene Wenger. To do a similar job that Cruyff did at Barcelona after he left to help the transition! Though at the moment Wenger is adamant he doesn't want it.

I think you have missed the point.

It has not been suggested that Gazidis assists AW in relation to ‘football related’ matters. Just that Gazidis now completes some of the duties which had previously been overseen by Dein.

Moving on, the club is in a much stronger position than it has ever been. That is clear. Whether Dein would have accelerated growth is something we will never know.

Unsure if you have read it but AW gave a fantastic interview to Le’Quipe a few weeks ago. Well worth a read.
