However I think we have enough to contend with to be honest.

The FA investigations are speculation, but they don't mention the embezzlement case, which I believe is the most serious one.

^^^ I think the tax case for the other yacht is outstanding, too.

He might argue he was unlucky/shafted when the FL banned him first time round, when the FL ignored his right to appeal in Italian court.

This has put an interesting twist on things.
How many cases is he facing right now?

__________

Why was that unlucky? He appealed twice on those grounds to an independent QC, and twice it was rejected.

It was a conviction.

I'm not so sure about next week's FL appeal, though.

You could argue that he was lucky that tax evasion became viewed as a conviction which could be seen as spent after a year otherwise he would have been banned for good.

The bloke is a walking disaster area.

"Convicted of paying for s" "ex(sorry, but stealing don't even get through the admins around here!)with an underage prostitute and of abuse of power for asking police to release her when she was arrested for theft; under appeal"

"Convicted of tax fraud in case focusing on the purchase of the TV rights to US films by his company, Mediaset"

"Acquitted in several other cases; also convicted in several, only to be cleared on appeal; others expired under statute of limitations"

So, what chance has anyone got of getting away with anything in Italy?..

Well, I think if I lived there I'd try my luck at a thing or three, but me having nothing I'd more then likely end up where some of these people should be!..

Italian law seems as wierd as some of the people it protects!..

So who was behind the government decree that lead to this and why? Daft law or power brokers removing a law that targeted them?

Was he lucky? Or at the sharp end of a daft law?
Or something really shady higher up?
