Another sickener

According to the NEP Panilios looks likely to miss the rest of the season having ruptured his ACL. Feel gutted for him as he had really settled in well. The only consolation for him is there are so many players at the club who have suffered the same injury and come through, advice and inspiration will be close at hand. As a club we must feel a touch jinxed.

I think it's the boots. They grip much better than old studded boots did, and when players twist and turn the blades get stuck in the grass. Maybe if we cut the grass down to less than 2cm these injuries might be less likely?

Let's hope for a rapid recovery for Pinillos. He has had a very impressive debut season and was the signing of the summer for Forest. Not sure there is an outstanding candidate to replace him amongst the squad at the moment. Osborn is the best left sided candidate who's currently playing. Cohen would be a shoe in if fit but is weeks away from full fitness.

Mancienne can do a job but he's not going to provide the balance and drive down the left like a natural left footer. Such a shame for us and I really hope Fawaz allows Dougie to look to the loan market. There are good fullbacks out there. Look at Luke Garbutt at Fulham for example. Wages may be an issue but we have to replace him rather than use MM, Fox and Lichaj as cover. Not sure we should be relying on Cohen either at this stage.

I don't want to see our defence shuffled about, so I'd rather see Lichaj stay on the right, Mancienne stay in the middle, and if that means Fox on the left, so be it. He doesn't have Antonio leaving him exposed now.

I'm not sure you should be relying on Cohen at ANY stage, to be honest; he's never going to be the same again and rushing him back could end up crippling him into the bargain... for a few more Championship points? You're not going to get promoted, and you're not going to get relegated, so out of respect for your captain I hope he takes the pitch again only when he is as fit as can be.

No we probably shouldn't risk him although I think we could still get relegated or promoted at this stage!

I don't think Cohen is going to be rushed back by anyone. I think he may find he has a better chance of breaking back into the team at left back than midfield at the moment as Lansbury and Vaughan have built a solid central two partnership up.

Lichaj is an option and I have a feel good that they'll be trying him out at left back with Mancienne at right back in training this week.

"I don't think Cohen is going to be rushed back by anyone"

I would hope not and I think the majority of fans wouldn't want him to be either. Although not ideal, we have a few options for the position in the mean time as this thread shows. Cohen was himself targeting the QPR game but I would imagine at best, that would be an appearance from the bench.

Cohen will start v QPR I would imagine. Better to warm up and play from the start? He will probably aim for an hour's play I would've thought.
