I'm not too keen on digging out on one of our own players, especially when they aren't doing anything wrong but I don't want Tom Carroll starting anymore. For me he is just a passenger that does not do enough to control the game. I feel that he burdens other players like Dier who had to control midfield alone against Leicester last week.
I don't deny his technical talent but even then, his passing isn't even that penetrative. Further to this I'm starting to wonder what Benteleb must be thinking.
Is it just me or is this decision to play Carroll when Dembele is not fit a strange decision or am I missing his contribution to the team. For me he is a passenger when he plays... and I wonder how the game would have ended if he had started ahead of Dembele today.

Yep Carroll not good enough but seems he's 3 re choice CM ATM so any injury to Dier or Dembele he'll be starting

I think Bentaleb royally p-ssed Poch off by playing for Algeria when he was still recovering from Injury and then he made the injury worse. Aside from that I'm not quite sure Poch appreciates Bentalebs show boating particularly in front of our defence.
Regarding mason i believe he is a favourite of Pochettinno's but obviously injury has hampered him. If Mason had been fit i think he would be third choice cm.
Im not saying Bentaleb is finished at Spurs but i just get the feeling his cards have been marked by Poch and he is going to find it very difficult to become a regular again.
I may be wrong but thats how i see it.

agree with you Add-dont know why Carrioll starts games-not up to it-someone need to tell him the midfield is the engine room-and not a posers paradise
