Taking Off Giroud Killed Us

First and foremost. Mertesacker. How is this guy starting week in, week out for Arsenal?
The guy is a complete and utter liability.
We lost that game cause of him. Just like we lost the game against Southampton a few weeks ago.

Once again, we lose to a garbage Chelsea side who's got nothing going for them. Sad bit is that we didn't create any credible clear cut chances against them.
Same old story.

But what I want to know is what was going through Wenger's head when he took off Giroud.
Everyone in the stadium (including Giroud) were scratching their heads at that. Very strange decision which ultimately made it harder for us.

We had no one to aim for in the box. The Chelsea defenders were very comfortable and had it easy.
Little stuff like this is that shows Wenger has no idea what he's doing. And that he's finished. Clueless.

Wenger's not clueless or past it, he was let down today by 2 things:

1st a rush of blood by arguably our calmest defender

2nd by our pivot, flamini is past it, I know it, you know it, wenger knows it, christ even Flam knows it himself. The only one who doesn't seem to is Ramsey, time after time in those first 15 mins chelsea got past flamini and where was the great rambo? In ozil or even oli's position, this lack in basic levels of 'giving a crap' is what put us in the position to lose per in the first place.

I bet you any money when we went down to 10 Ramsey was was extatic as he now had an excuse to go kamikaze attack, such a selfish weasal

Just let it sink in for a second, Dubbed; amid the poor performances, head scratching squad choices, we've been doubled and had about 3 shots on target by as bad a Chelsea side as they've had out against us in 15 years. It's hysterical.

In all fairness, most of the 180 minutes against them this season have been with a handicap.

True. Still, prior to the sending offs we'd been pathetic on both occasions.

Think we can put the myth to bed that Theo is a CF and a replacement for Giroud. He can play there occasionally but needs to have a kind of form. He needs to improve dramatically and that being on the wing.

I actually think putting Theo up front helped us - asw poor as he was. We'd have likely been squeezed with Giroud up top and our lack of midfield control and composure would have been exposed further. Theo's threat over the top forced Chelsea's back line into sitting back based on that threat. I didn't mind the decision.

Yeah, I agree with that. Far too feeble.

Not sure which game do you watch Herbie. Nothing of what you there happened on the pitch. We needed Giroud presence in the box in the last few minutes. Watching Flamini in that position is just wrong.

Was a strange sub but don't think it killed us more than being down to 10
