Welcome to Marcus Olsson
He was an unused sub in the 3rd round for Blackburn, does that mean he is cup-tied or not?
Marcus Olsson is NOT cup-tied.

Well I just took the time to read the rules on the FA website and unused subs are eligible to play for another team, so he can play on Friday if required
Rule 15 (g):
A substitute who does not play in a match is entitled to play for another Club in the
Competition in the same season.
Big FAIL for you there sph

FA Cup has a specific rule (15g) that clearly states that an unused sub can play for another club in the competition in the same season. Capitol One Cup rules are not as clear stating only that a player cannot play for more than one club in the same season. However, with "play" seeming to be the operative word, I would guess that the interpretation would be as defined in the FA Cup rules.

At least Martin being cup-tied won't bother Sunderland or Newcastle
