Transfer deadline day

The transfer deadline is 11pm on Monday Feb 1st so what do we hope for or expect from Molineux before then. Although the Spanish deadline is 31/1 so if we want anyone from Real or Barca we need to get them today.

Still talking of bringing another forward in, maybe a left back too. When we sold Afobe for around £10m I said I would be happy if we reinvested half and we are not far short of that, so no great complaints in that respect. Zyro, Williamson and Mason look like good signings but we will have to wait a couple of months before finding out if Mason is good enough to justify the fee.

We are light on numbers in defence although when Hause is fit it will look better especially if he is considered someone that could be cover for left back.

Mason is being talked of as a number ten so we could do with a number nine unless you believe Le Fondre and/or Sigurdarson could do the job. Although when Zyro is fit I think a front three of him, Mason and Van La Parra would be good.

And in midfield we are still lacking a bit in quality in my opinion unless Saville or Wallace can step up to the plate. Although the return to the team of Price would help.

If Dicko, Zyro, Graham and Edwards were fit I think we have a squad now that could be promotion contenders so it augurs well for next season, but in the short term a signing or two by 11pm on Monday does look needed, if not permanently then at least on loan for the rest of the season, until all the above are fit

Funny how the gloom merchants on molmix when calculating our financial position completely forget how much the parachute money has been going down by millions every season since we left the premier league and that to loan players out you have to be paying their wages out in the first place. But it makes for a good moan.

If we beat Bolton tonight it will be 16 points in 7 games. That puts us firmly in the top 6 on current form and if we averaged those points over a season we would be top. If Dicko, Zyro, Williamson, Graham, Edwards were fit I guess we would have a very strong second half of the season

Like to see us getting a couple of loans in to compensate for their absence and we still might end the season strongly.

I agree DJ, all is not lost and as bad as some portray it, ok we haven't hit the heights of last season but look who we have lost since then.

If people think that we are going to spend vast amounts on players they are living in cloud cuckoo land, because isn't that the point of the academy? The average fan would prefer to bring our kids through into the first team, because for a start they will have more passion for the club than the mercenaries who just come here for the money.

I would rather see a team full of our home grown kids any day.

Kind of agree Wolfgang, i blame the management for the crap we have seen this season for the most part, you can't blame Morgan and Moxey for a manager that wants players and then never selects them.

Completely disingenuous to suggest nothing is wrong either.

Yes after tonight we may have 16 points from 7 games but every man and his dog knows performances for most of that time have been average at best and more frequently poor and the reality is that we have not yet remotely even challenged for a play off spot and attendances ARE about as low as they have been for 22 years.

The performances and results have shown improvement recently compared to most of the season and there is nothing disengenuous about having different opinions to you Cinci

If Mason lives up to his fee, Williamson can stay fit and Zyro picks up where he left off that isn't a bad window.

We are still short of a striker, hopefully we can find one in the window, but all in all better than I expected.
